Story
Kira is a husky/border collie mix and is 1 year old. She loves to chew on sticks and has a funny personality. She will talk to you but in general she is not much of a barker. She is potty trained, but since she is young she stills needs to go outside every few hours if she isn't in a crate. We love this little cutie but unfortunately we don't have the ability to give her the time and attention she needs any more. We are pregnant with our first and things are about to become even busier for us very soon. Kira is great with kids, dogs, and cats. Anyone would be lucky to take her. We live in Carthage, MO but don't mind meeting in Joplin or Springfield

Story
It would be easy to feel sorry for Stan. He has some old injuries, including a limp and an embedded collar scar, that show us that he hasn't had it easy so far. But this guy is just so full of life. He shoots out of his kennel, despite his limp, to get outside as quickly as possible. This boy is strong and knows what he wants! He is trusting, curious and loving. He sits for a treat and really calms down after he gets his wiggles out. He patiently waited for me to finish my conversation in the office while he laid by my feet. I know someone out there has the patience, willingness and heart to help this boy live out his full potential and overcome his past. How can you say no to this face?

Story
Hi, I'm Daize. I'm a 1 year old Border Collie mix. My foster says I'm a sweet girl and do really well at their house. I'd love a home where I can love my humans, play, and feel safe! I'm a little shy at first but warm up easily. I just need someone who is willing to give me the time and patience that it takes for me to adjust to a new home.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2184922##
