Piper is a one-year-old female Border Collie mix looking to make your home her forever home! Her recent blizzard foster family states that she is smart and quick to learn, in fact they even taught her a few commands in the time of her stay. Here are a few more things her family had to say…-Almost housetrained and only had one accident on the first night they had her. -She also met other dogs on walks and was nonreactive.-Did great with kids although she was jumpy but was easily redirected. She is gentle but does playfully nibble, again was easily redirected.Piper spent some time on the family’s furniture but slept in a crate at night to which the family says she did great with! She is a young, affectionate, eager to please, friendly, easy going, and playful girl and is looking for a new friend to spend a little time working with her fostering desirable behaviors. If you are an active person or family looking for a pal for long walks or even runs and lots of play, Piper is definitely your gal!

Winston is a seven-month-old male Border Collie mix who is full of energy! He’s a silly guy who thinks play is life. He is an active puppy who needs to have physical activities and mental stimulation to create the best environment for him. He gets along great with the other puppies in his run and has the greatest time playing with them. He does need to be separated to eat as he guards his food. This could be something he outgrows as he relaxes outside the shelter, but it could also just be a part of his personality. During the recent snow storm, Winston’s foster mom said nothing but amazing things about him including how wonderful he did with her adult Great Dane and Mini Aussie. If you are looking for a smart, playful, and silly companion, Winston is your guy!

Minnie is a one-year old female Border Collie mix looking for a sweet family to call her own. Minnie’s recent foster family has wonderful things to say about her, including that she did great with children ages 2, 4, 11 and 14. They mentioned that she can jump when she is excited and knock smaller children down, but nothing that isn’t easily trainable. She also is 100% housetrained but can dribble when she gets excited. This could be something that she stops once she feels calm and relaxed, but the family just mitigated the problem by taking her outside before gregariously greeting her. Minnie is a sweet and gentle girl who always has a happy wagging tail and is always ready to accept pets by anyone who comes by - her foster family obviously noted this too. They described her as affectionate, eager to please, friendly, outgoing, playful, and easy going. They also mentioned that she is a cuddle bunny and a couch potato. Minnie is a quiet girl who gets along with other dogs, especially her other quiet and gentle kennel mates. She is playful and does great in play groups. Her foster family’s final thoughts were that Minnie is an absolutely sweetheart of a dog. She loves to play fetch with a tennis ball but also loves to snuggle on the couch with you. She has some energy but definitely matches the vibe and will calmly lay down if her humans are busy or working. She spent several days with her foster parent at their office and would just calmly lay under the desk, but follow when they’d get up to do something.Minnie is ready to be loved and treasured like the precious baby she is.
