You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Serrano Pepper is from Texas. He was born on the streets to a mom that was a stray. A kind woman rescued mom and all the pups, when she found them wandering in her neighborhood. Poor little Serrano was malnourished, covered in fleas, and the vet was sure he wouldn't have lived much more than a few days without the care of the woman who rescued them! Well, after being brought into rescue & given proper veterinary care and nutrition, Serrano and his siblings are positively thriving, and now it's time to find them all homes of their own here in Minnesota! Serrano is a sweet boy that is friendly with everyone he meets! He absolutely loves to play with his siblings and people alike. He is definitely the most outgoing/confident one of all his siblings, eager to explore absolutely everywhere Serrano is not potty trained yet, but no young puppy ever is. Puppies operate on a sleep, eat, play, poop & repeat schedule. Potty training is very dependent on staying on a strict feeding schedule, and getting them outside roughly 20-30 minutes afterwards. If you can maintain a consistent feeding/outside schedule, you'll have a potty trained pup in no time at all. Just remember to be patient, because they're doing their best! Serrano is also not kennel trained, as he is kept in an outside run along with his siblings & mom in Texas. Kennel training is really not that hard at all. It's as easy as getting a kennel, putting it where you spend most of your time, and just leaving the door open for him to go in and out as he pleases. Feed all meals there, as well as any high value treats, and as soon as you know it, he'll be in there relaxing on and off through out the day. Never use the kennel as a punishment. They arrive in Minnesota on 1/11/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
