Rizza is a 39lb spayed female mix breed dog and is 3 years old. She is loving and kind with humans. She likes to bring you her toys to play tug of war or fetch. She will let you win sometimes (just for your self esteem). She loves sitting in laps and cuddling. She loves her people! She is also perfectly potty trained. No accidents since she came to stay 2 months ago. She also will sleep through the night 8 + hours. She was left to live outside for the last two winters in ND and attacked multiple times by large dogs. She will resource guard food/bones from other dogs in her home, so is best as an only dog. She does not resource guard from humans :) She can walk on a leash. She doesn't chew inappropriately. She is HW neg and vaccinated on on preventatives. In an indoor setting for two days with cats she was non-reactive and respectful, but outside when a cat runs she will chase. I am fostering her but she would love to be loved and cuddled by someone she can be devoted to.

We are dumbfounded that she was there at our local city shelter for so long and no one came to claim her and no one wanted to adopt her. She is quite an awesome dog! She is smart and loving. She likes to give hugs and kisses. She loves to play with other dogs she would do great in a home with another dog that also loves to play. An active home would be great for her as well. She will need to have physical and mental stimulation in order to love a happy balanced life. She walks ok on leash. Some pulling but not too bad just needs a little twerking on the leash manners. She knows sit and her recall is pretty good. She is crate trained and house trained. Rocky is one cool little dude! He was found as a stray and it took a while for us to get him because he was not quite sure who he could trust after being left alone. A good Samaritan was able to gain his trust and bring him to us. He opened up pretty quickly to us and now enjoys his time at the shelter but is very ready for his own home. He is a small border collie/feist mix and is 4 years old. He is leash trained and loves to go on walks. He knows basic commands and sits perfectly without being told to. He would be a great dog for someone who is active. He is such a loving and happy little guy. You will not go wrong with Rocky.

Our Suni is your typical curious pup who likes to play with toys, our resident dog and you! Her tail is always wagging and she's very sweet. She walks great on the leash and takes treats gently. She is learning basic obedience commands right now and is very focused and willing to learn once the treats come out! She is nervous of new people and dogs on walks so she prefers to just ignore them and not say hi. In the house, she can be shy at first meeting new dogs and peoples but warms up quickly to the humans once they squat to her level and she can get some sniffs! Our mellow dog friends she is good with right away, but will need a slower intro to the boisterous puppies or playful dogs so she can get more comfortable first! Once she's comfortable with you she has no problem giving you all the affection and trying to be a lap dog. She sleeps in her crate at night and is crated while I work out of the house. If she can't see our resident dog and feels truly alone, she will whine for a few minutes and then settle into her routine! She does bark on occasion at people in the yard or outside the window, it's not constant, but something to be mindful of depending on how sensitive you or your neighbors are to noise! Overall Suni is such a wonderful sweet girl who would do well in any forever home

I've recently discovered my strong urge to chase cats, so a cat-free home would be best for me. I'm looking for a patient family with time, energy, and ideally, a mature dog to help me learn. I need a confident pack leader, ideally an adult woman, and a family with dog experience, no small kids, and a quiet environment. A fenced yard is a must, as I have a history of escaping. I'm working on my listening and leash manners, and a one-on-one trainer would be great, as group classes are overwhelming for me right now. Despite being ignored and shouted at, they are sweet boys, and they have great dog manners. They are calm, loving, and so grateful for any love and attention. They adore their new toys and were ecstatic when a friend came by with kids. They are housebroken, great with both big and small dogs and have ignored the cats completely. We have given them all their shots, had them neutered and chipped and they are ready to go to their forever home! In the spring of 2023, we got a call about 4 dogs who were in bad shape and living in the woods a couple of hours from me. We set traps and were able to rescue 2 of the 4. We tried and tried to get the other 2, but we were unable to do so. Some of the local people continued to try to get them, as well, but couldn’t. I am still very sad about having to leave them behind. Chester and Chloe were near death when we rescued them. They were starving, their skin was horrible, and of course, they had every known parasite. They are healthy now. Chloe is still very shy, and I feel that she needs a special home with a lot of love, patience and attention! We do not see any aggression in her. She has been at Blue Ribbon Kennels now for 14 months and needs a forever and loving home so badly. She has never had the opportunity to live inside a house and to be part of a family. Chloe is in Mississippi. When adopted, she will come fully vetted and will be transported by Rescue Riders, a very reliable transporter. All of this is included in her adoption fee.
