Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello! My name is  Ohni , and I’m a sweet, somewhat shy pup ready to find my forever home. My fosters say I’m a genuine joy to be around—an easygoing girl who loves spending time with adults, seniors, and other dogs, especially the young, bouncy ones! Here is a video of me and my foster's puppy. I adore stuffies—they’re my favorite! I’ll toss them into the air, chase them around, and then find a cozy spot to quietly and expertly de-fluff them. You can check me out in action in this video. I also enjoy a good game of chase, even if my toys tend to bounce off my adorable face rather than get caught. Here’s another video of me playing with my foster’s pup!  When it’s time to relax, I’m housebroken, crate trained, and excellent on a leash, so I’m ready for calm walks or peaceful evenings. I love settling down with a bone or a stuffed Kong or curling up on a comfy dog bed near my foster while they read. I’m a gentle treat-taker (though I get a little quick for extra-special snacks like ham!) and an affectionate shadow—I’ll quietly follow you around the house, even leaving my nap to be near you. I may take a little extra time to warm up to new people, particularly men, but I’m eager to make friends and build trust with my humans. While I’m a wonderful companion, I do have a few things I'm still working on to be my best self. I can get startled by sudden movements, like clapping or quick gestures, and I’m happiest in a quieter, low-energy home. A sturdy plastic crate suits me best since I’ve managed to Houdini my way out of a wire one before! I’m also working on shedding a few pounds to be my healthiest self, but I’m already the perfect size for snuggles—smaller than your average Border Collie. If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup who thrives on cuddles and calm, I might be the perfect match for you! Ohni is from a local impound. f you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meka is an adorable little whirlwind of sweetness and curiosity. Like any puppy, she’s still figuring things out, but her favorite things are simple: cuddling with her people, playing her heart out, and then crashing for a nap to recharge for more fun. She’s all about the classic puppy lifestyle—eat, sleep, play, repeat. When she’s with her littermates, things can get a little noisy during playtime, but it’s all part of the fun. Meka is full of potential and eager to learn, but she’ll need a family ready to guide her through training with patience and love. If you’re looking for a cuddly, playful pup who’ll keep you smiling, Meka is ready to bring joy and a little bit of puppy chaos into your life! Meka is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 1/11/2025  and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This adorable nugget is Keke. She is a typical puppy with typical puppy antics. She is looking for an active family to help her get her energy out and teach her to be her best self. She can be a little vocal when she is playing and when she sees other dogs so shared walls may not be a good choice for her. This sweetheart is eager to please and ready to show you how smart she is. Are you ready for her to liven up your life?   Keke is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Cherry Pepper is from Texas.  She was born on the streets to a mom that was a stray.  A kind woman rescued mom and all the pups, when she found them wandering in her neighborhood.  Poor little Cherry was malnourished, covered in fleas, and the vet was sure she wouldn't have lived much more than a few days without the care of the woman who rescued them!  Well, after being brought into rescue & given proper veterinary care and nutrition, Cherry and her siblings are positively thriving, and now it's time to find them all homes of their own here in Minnesota!  Cherry is a sweet girl that is friendly with everyone she meets!  She absolutely loves to play with her siblings and people alike.  Cherry is an adorably inquisitive pup who loves people almost as much as she loves to eat.  She will be a little shadow following you wherever you go!   Cherry is not potty trained yet, but no young puppy ever is.  Puppies operate on a sleep, eat, play, poop & repeat schedule.  Potty training is very dependent on staying on a strict feeding schedule, and getting them outside roughly 20-30 minutes afterwards.  If you can maintain a consistent feeding/outside schedule, you'll have a potty trained pup in no time at all.  Just remember to be patient, because they're doing their best!  Cherry is also not kennel trained, as she is kept in an outside run along with her siblings & mom in Texas.  Kennel training is really not that hard at all.  It's as easy as getting a kennel, putting it where you spend most of your time, and just leaving the door open for her to go in and out as she pleases.  Feed all meals there, as well as any high value treats, and as soon as you know it, she'll be in there relaxing on and off through out the day.  Never use the kennel as a punishment.     If you think that you could give Cherry the perfect home here in MN, please fill out an adoption application today!  She can't wait to meet you!  They arrive in Minnesota on 1/11/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon.
