Our Suni is your typical curious pup who likes to play with toys, our resident dog and you! Her tail is always wagging and she's very sweet. She walks great on the leash and takes treats gently. She is learning basic obedience commands right now and is very focused and willing to learn once the treats come out! She is nervous of new people and dogs on walks so she prefers to just ignore them and not say hi. In the house, she can be shy at first meeting new dogs and peoples but warms up quickly to the humans once they squat to her level and she can get some sniffs! Our mellow dog friends she is good with right away, but will need a slower intro to the boisterous puppies or playful dogs so she can get more comfortable first! Once she's comfortable with you she has no problem giving you all the affection and trying to be a lap dog. She sleeps in her crate at night and is crated while I work out of the house. If she can't see our resident dog and feels truly alone, she will whine for a few minutes and then settle into her routine! She does bark on occasion at people in the yard or outside the window, it's not constant, but something to be mindful of depending on how sensitive you or your neighbors are to noise! Welcome Bear to CCPAL foster program. Bear is a young male that is 5 months old. He is 50% Border Collie and the other is Terrier. These puppies all love the water and would love a home that allows them to play in the water. He is the biggest of the 3 boys and a stronger personality. He is the most dominant of the 3 boys. He is outgoing and social and is slightly less attentive than his two brothers. He should be 50 pounds full grown. He currently is about 27 pounds. He lives with children and is around goats in his farm house foster home. He has long beautiful and shinny fur. He is knows sit and can walk on a leash. He is good in a car and friendly with his litter mates. He hasn’t been around any other dogs but his litter mates. They are all boys. He has the striking looks of a Border Collie. We would love someone that knows and loves the breed to apply for Bear or any in this litter. We think Bear has less of the Border Collie personality and more of the dad’s personality who was a Terrier. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. We are dumbfounded that she was there at our local city shelter for so long and no one came to claim her and no one wanted to adopt her. She is quite an awesome dog! She is smart and loving. She likes to give hugs and kisses. She loves to play with other dogs she would do great in a home with another dog that also loves to play. An active home would be great for her as well. She will need to have physical and mental stimulation in order to love a happy balanced life. She walks ok on leash. Some pulling but not too bad just needs a little twerking on the leash manners. She knows sit and her recall is pretty good. She is crate trained and house trained. I am a local surrender. From the foster: Hi, I'm Camilo! My favorite thing to do is play fetch. If I have a ball then I'm super happy. I also like to explore new places and car rides for ice cream are pretty fun. I have quite a bit of energy and will let you know I am bored by shoving toys in your face. I also really enjoy cuddling and will curl up next to you on the couch anytime. I am a super sweet dog and I really love my people. I'm such a good boy that my foster family leaves me to have free range of the house while they're gone. I sleep with my foster mom and prefer it to a kennel but I am okay with either. I really hope to find my forever home with people that will love me as much as I love them! Camilo does have seasonal allergies and will occasionally need shots for it but is really easily managed. The biggest complication with him is he has some pretty severe people reactivity. He does amazing with us and is just fine with close friends and family that he has met many times. He doesn't like strangers to come in the house and is okay outside as long as people are far enough away. This is something we have been working on but he still has a good ways to go before he is able to be brought anywhere with people. This past winter he did just fine as less people are outside, however, with the nicer weather his reactivity became more apparent. He does just fine with most dogs, especially if they are smaller than him, and currently lives comfortably with another dog in the same space. He really is an amazing companion. He is super sweet and gentle when at home, just doesn't know how to manage his fears and needs some more extensive training.
