Snapshot of Gordy: Size? Medium-Large (48 lbs) Activity Level? High -he is a border collie mix, after all! ;) Noise Level? Low Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Likely, but no children in foster home. Good with Strangers? Yes Potty Trained? Yes, with appropriate supervision and a schedule. Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Medium About Gordy: Hi, my name is Gordy! I also respond to Gordo, Gordito, Sir Gordon, and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I am an adorable border collie/lab mix who wants nothing more than a home to call my own--and, preferably, a ball to call my own as well. I LOVE to chase balls, and if no balls are around, I'll make do with chasing anything you throw for me--stuffies, sticks, ropes... the options are endless. My foster mom says that I'm amazingly well adjusted given my relatively rough history. I was 1 of 16 (!!) dogs rescued from a local home, and I haven't had the best care before now. For example, you might notice that I have a bit of a limp due to a wonky front foot. The vet says that this is likely caused by a ruptured tendon that didn't heal right. Fortunately, it doesn't slow me down at all! I also recently had 8 front teeth removed, including 3 of my canines, which were all fractured, likely from biting at the bars of a crate. Still, nothing can bring down my happy-go-lucky personality (except, of course, when my foster mom puts away my ball for the night). Something else you should know about me is that I tested positive for two tick-borne diseases, Anaplasmosis and Lyme. I received treatment and I don’t have any signs of chronic Lyme infection - which is AMAZING news! I will likely continue to test positive for both of these for the rest of my life due to chronic antibodies. It is possible that I could develop side effects from Lyme later in my life but for now I’m a happy and healthy boy! Here's a bit more from my foster mom: An ideal home for Gordy would be one that can give him lots of mental and physical stimulation. He really enjoys chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing tug with toys, and playing fetch. He's also a smart boy and has picked up on sit, lay down, and crate up very quickly. We're working on some new commands for him to show off! I think he'd do great with someone who enjoys having a dog that can be a companion to them on a variety of adventures! Gordy is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Adoption Fee: $550 + applicable tax MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "adopt me! Story
Loki is a 2-year-old Border Collie mix and the sweetest boy ever! Weighing 60 pounds, he’s convinced he’s a lap dog, always eager to climb onto his humans for snuggles. One of his favorite ways to show affection is by putting both paws on your shoulders and nuzzling in for a hug. This quirky pup also likes to lay down to eat his food—just like the rest of us who enjoy a good meal on the couch!Loki has come a long way since arriving in his foster home. He is house trained on a regular schedule, and is pretty quiet overall, so he makes for a great roommate. While he loves being close to his humans, he settles well when left alone for a few hours. He now sleeps in the bedroom with the resident dogs at night and does just fine, happily curling up on the bed for snuggles. During the day, he’s left out in the house with both dogs and cats without any issues. He enjoys the company of other dogs and thrives with those that aren’t overly dominant, doing especially well when given a slow introduction. Loki did great at his last adoption event as well, behaving nicely with both people and other dogs. In terms of energy, Loki is a perfect balance—he loves to lounge and relax but is also up for a good play session. Fetch is one of his favorite games, and if you can’t reach a toy, don’t worry—he’ll bring it to you! He’s incredibly smart, playful, and eager to please, making him a wonderful companion. While a fenced yard is recommended for safe outdoor exploration, Loki has also shown great recall and stays close when outside without a leash. If you’re looking for an affectionate, fun-loving, and devoted companion, Loki is ready to bring his hugs into your life!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Meet Frank, a 1 year-old Border Collie/Labrador mix. Frank is a spirited and lovable boy bursting with energy and affection! He’s the perfect balance of playful and cuddly—whether he is chasing his favorite ball or curling up for snuggles he is happy.Frank is excited to meet new people. He was a shy boy initially, but has really come out of his shell. Once he warms up, he’s a bundle of fun and energy. He’s incredibly intelligent and absolutely adores puzzle and enrichment games, which keep his curious mind engaged. When he’s feeling comfortable, Frank can entertain himself with a ball for hours, showing off his playful and independent side. While he’s still getting used to walks and the sights and sounds of the outside world, Frank is great on a leash. He’s learning to build his confidence and will benefit from a patient and understanding adopter who can help him navigate his fears.Frank thrives on companionship and prefers to be around people and other dogs. Though he does okay in his own space when needed, he’s happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s also making great strides in training, quickly learning commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” Frank responds well to “no” and “down.” He’s still learning which furniture is ok to be on and which isn’t, so he’d do best with someone willing to continue guiding him in this area. He is eager to learn and he’s a fast learner, so with guidance, he’ll master it in no time. Fully potty trained, Frank is a dream when it comes to house manners.Frank’s favorite thing in the world? Snuggling up in your lap for belly rubs. He’s the ultimate cuddle buddy and loves to share affection. He’s good with cats and other dogs, but we’re not sure how he feels about kids yet. A quieter home would likely be best for him, as loud noises and yelling make him nervous.Frank is learning how to use his crate and ride in the car. At first he is a bit hesitant to go in his crate, taking his time to sniff around and consider his options. But, once inside, he settles in comfortably, realizing it’s a safe and cozy place just for him. When he goes for car rides, he is always excited but a little nervous, so he is learning to settle in and enjoy the ride.If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s smart, playful, and full of potential, Frank might just be the perfect match for you!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
