Story
Welcome Bear to CCPAL foster program. Bear is a young male that is 7 months old. He is 50% Border Collie mix and maybe Terrier or Lab. These puppies all love the water and would love a home that allows them to play in the water. He is the biggest of the 3 boys and a stronger but very sweet personality. He is the most outgoing of his litter. He has the long beautiful coat of the Border Collie. He is outgoing and social and is slightly less attentive than his two brothers. He should be 50 pounds full grown. He currently is about 27 pounds. He walks wonderfully on a leash and will be a wonderful family companion. He lives with children and is around goats in his farm house foster home. He has long beautiful and shinny fur. He is knows sit and can walk on a leash. He is good in a car and friendly with his litter mates. He hasn’t been around any other dogs but his litter mates. They are all boys. He has the striking looks of a Border Collie. We would love someone that knows and loves the breed to apply for Bear or any in this litter. He is outgoing enough to be the only dog or would be fine with another dog as well. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 600. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered and ready for his forever home. He can be in a home with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. She is learning about cats and being on a leash. She is housebroken with a dog door but was also house trained without one. She is a bit of energy so will need an active family to keep up! She is friendly and has gotten a long with other dogs of various sizes really well. She loves to play and is pure fun! She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Name: Ballet Breeds: Border Collie Age: Puppy Sex: Female Size: Medium when fully grown Ballet is a gorgeous Border Collie puppy who was brought into the shelter after she was found wandering after puppy curfew. No one came for her so she is now looking for a home who will love her, train her, and put that smartypants border collie brain to work. Ballet is smart as a whip and learns so fast. She absolutely thrives on being given something to do to. Puzzle toys, flirt pole, training—yes please! Ballet is typical puppy so housetraining is a work in progress but she keeps her crate clean for the workday and overnight. She is fantastic with other dogs but will herd them playfully which doesn’t always go over well with some dogs especially the little ones. She has not been around cats but would need a proper introduction to them and reminders that they aren’t for play. Ballet is of the mindset that everything is for play! Due to her breed she would be best with older kids or a herding breed experienced home who understands the tendencies to heel nip and chase kiddos to tell them where to go. If you are looking for a super fun dog who wants to join in on adventures, learn anything you want to teach, and keep you active and on your toes, Ballet wants to meet you! Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $650 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, deworming, and microchip Interested in adopting? Story
*COURTESY POSTING * Name: Flicker Breeds: Border Collie Age: 3 years old Sex: Male Size: Medium (45 lbs) Flicker is an almost 3-year-old neutered Border Collie (3/31/22) that has been living with me since May of 2023. When I first got Flicker, he hadn't had the greatest start to life and had a lot to learn. I never intended to keep him, but have been lax on attempting to place him as I was strung along by several "interested" parties and ghosted more than once, so put placing him on the back burner. He's easy, happy and healthy here, but I do believe there is a better home out there for him that will allow him to really flourish. Flicker has participated in UpDog, FastCAT, CAT and has started dock diving foundations and is jumping off the dock for toys. He has not actually competed in dock diving yet, but I hope he will at some point in the near future. Flicker did have several months of flyball foundations summer/fall 2023 and picked them up quickly and seemed to enjoy it, so I would think he could relearn those skills and be a successful flyball dog should his handler choose. Flicker has his BCAT, CA, CGC & FTN- although I have not submitted the latter 3 to AKC for official display on his Canine Partners registration. Flicker LOVES fetch- whether it be a ball or frisbee, he will gladly retrieve it for you. I am not a Border Collie person and I believe our lack of success at disc events lies solely on me - he has played UpDog games with pro handlers and has placed in pro division games with them. He and I just don't jive super well and we are not that successful as a team, so I make it a point to go out and have a great time, even if we suck scoring wise He is easy to hand off to play for other people at events. He has lots of disc "aunties" who play rounds with him. Flicker is a typical soft BC, and he needs very minimal correction, if at all. A slightly raised voice usually is enough to stop what he is doing. He lives to worship his person. He knows sit, down, kennel, stay, around, out & place. He has lived with a variety of dogs- including intact males and bossy female APBT and numerous fosters. He has tagged the other dogs while running in the yard, but indoors ignores them for the most part. He does live with cats, but I truly believe a home without cats would be beneficial as he does feel a need to stare and try to herd them any time he is around them, which makes it difficult for him to relax. Even on place, he will not take his eyes off of them. I would prefer he go to a home without cats but that is not a deal breaker with a savvy handler. Flicker had OFAs done for hips (excellent), patellas (normal) and elbows (normal) for my own peace of mind as I got him as a rescue and did not know anything of his lineage / possible structural issues he may have. As far as health goes, he's been great here. He is 43-45lbs and has gotten clean bills of health since I've had him. I have not noticed any food sensitivities. He is also fantastic for all grooming procedures and has never shown any issues with handling. Flicker's one "downfall" is he will go through periods of seemingly forgetting what being housebroken is. He will go months at a time clean in the crate and indoors, not a single accident, and then all of a sudden will have a stint of approx. 2-4 weeks of regular accidents (both urine and feces) and he does not seem to care about whether or not he lays in it etc. It is not a UTI, I think it is behavioral. I am confident an indoor/outdoor setup would solve this issue. It is also entirely possible he would be fine in a home with less stimulus- as I believe that may play a factor in this behavior as well. Flicker crates well (barring the stints of accidents) and crates nicely in the car. He has been environmentally stable everywhere he has gone with me. I am not pressed to move him, he can stay as long as needed. I have debated this over and over for the past year and a half but I truly believe there is a home out there that loves the breed and would cherish him. I admittedly have struggled to bond with him, and that is not his fault at all. He's a great dog, I just have a background in bull breeds ... Which is a lot different from a herdy one. I am asking a reasonable rehoming fee and will send his crate tag, rosettes and flat ribbons, title certs, vet records, collars/tag, sport stickers etc with him. I really would like to see him go to a sport home, he makes a lovely entry level sport dog but also has shown that he is capable of performing at a higher level with a handler that understands the breed. However, I am open to considering an active pet home as well. Requirements: **SPORT HOME PREFERRED** Interested in adopting? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB:  03/22/2017 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes, sometimes selective with small dogs Okay with cats: No, has prey drive Okay with children under 12 years old: Has done fine with kids 4+ that are respectful  Weight: 49 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  No,  with limited mobility he needs a special helper harness for his back end. A yard would give him the freedom to roam.  Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hello, my name is Galleta, and I am an incredibly handsome and happy adult Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix. Sure, I have limited feeling and movement in my hind legs, but I love life just the same! I mean not only do I have a wonderful wheelchair that allows me to run around but I also get to do about 10-15 minutes of physical therapy, stretches, & exercises every single day to help ensure my muscles don’t atrophy. Some people may not like doing a PT regimen, but I don’t mind it at all because it’s more quality time with my people. I would love to find a family that would also bring me to a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and even swimming!! Oh my gosh not only is playing fetch in the water is SOOOO much fun but I am an excellent swimmer! I do not like a lot of commotion and I’m a bit shy around new people especially if they get too close, but I love to be with MY people and I’m getting braver every day! I have a high prey drive so cats are probably not a good fit for me; I’m good with kids as long as they don't try and climb on me; and I do well with most other dogs although I can be a bit selective with small dogs. But mostly, I am easy going! I am a super smart boy who’s not only potty, crate, and leash trained but I know a bunch of commands like “down”, “kennel/crate”, “outside”, “wait”, and a release word “ok”.  Also, I have learned how to go up and down stairs! I can climb 3-4 steps of any surface on my own, and a full flight of carpeted stairs on my own if supervised. Sometimes I need a little help to get started if the landing is slippery like vinyl or hardwood. Ideally my forever home doesn't have a lot of stairs inside and going outside.  I am a happy, playful, and very loving boy who loves giving hugs, kisses, & snuggles, playing fetch in a huge yard, going to the dog park, playing with my toys, going for leashed walks, getting lots of belly rubs, and eating treats especially fruits & veggies! YUUUMMM!!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I also love to practice Barn Hunt…I may not be able to compete, but I sure do have a great time practicing! Hee, hee!! Anyway, I am an incredibly sweet bundle of love who is simply looking for patience and unconditional love from a committed fur-ever family that not only will NEVER give up on me but who will help me continue my physical therapy routine and keep me safe. I promise that I am totally worth it, and I will love you more than you could EVER imagine! Love & snuggles, Galleta. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello, my name is Benji! I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really! I know everything from how to do my business outside to a deluge of commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “wait”, “leave it”, “outside”, and “go potty”!! Thankfully, I enjoy learning, especially when I have a strong, confident, respectful leader, and I really love pleasing my people!! Anyway, foster mom says that I am the “most affectionate” dog she’s ever met and as hard as I try, I simply cannot disagree with her! Hee, hee!! All I need in my life now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving forever family who will not only NEVER give up on me but will commit to helping me overcome my fears!! I promise that not only am I totally worth it, but I will enrich your life in ways you could never imagine!!! Love, Benji Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.   This dog has received grooming with us at Underdog Rescue, but was likely neglected of grooming attention until he came into our care.  It can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as Doodle mixes require daily brushing.  Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average of $150 per appointment.  Adopters should be prepared for such expenses.  Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB:  09/09/2018 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Best with dogs her size or larger Okay with cats: No Okay with children under 12 years old: No Weight: 36 pounds Requires a fenced yard: No, but would love one to safely play Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Tacoma and I am a happy gal from Texas ready to find my forever home in Minnesota. I am an incredibly beautiful 3 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. I am a bit on the smaller size – so perfect for snuggling into a comfy dog bed! A little about me – I am deaf, but don’t let that stop me and am a very smart girl! I have picked up the routine in the house very quick. I also have a medical issue called “fly biting” – the vet discovered it is likely related to my diet. With a low carb diet and daily Prilosec, it is manageable. It might also be a bit anxiety based and/or habitual so when we meet my foster family can tell you about my routine and triggers. They think I would do best in a calm home. When I came up to Minnesota it was discovered I was heartworm positive. Now that those pesky bugs are gone, I'm a healthy girl, but need year round heartworm pills.   I would love to find a forever home with another dog that can help me stay on a routine and keep me busy. I am not a high energy dog but am a busy girl following my people and the other dogs around the house and yard. I don’t need a fenced yard since I am leash trained but would do best in a fenced yard to run and play in – or someone who can help me burn some energy out on walks, runs or teach me agility skills. I do try and play with the cats in my foster home, so if there are cats in my forever home they would need to be dog savvy and slowing introduced. If I didn’t have my foster sister to romp around and play with, I might be too interested in the cats and I don’t think they would enjoy how much fun I am. I love being around my people and following them around – they are helping me work on my manners like not jumping on people or bark at strangers. The barking doesn’t really bother me since I can’t hear it anyway. I am potty trained and crate trained. I live with a few other dogs and really enjoy the company of one in particular – she is a great buddy and we like to play together. Sometimes I do get into trouble, and it kinda makes my foster dad laugh, although he knows he shouldn’t. He says that I will pick up anything that isn’t nailed down – shoes, socks etc and carry it around – then my foster sister grabs the other end and the circus begins. Play time is great!! I love to be part of the action and would love to find a forever home that will love me unconditionally and help me be the best girl I can be! I know you will love me with all your heart, because I already love you! I hope to meet you soon! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
