Story
Bruno is an almost 3-year-old poodle-border collie mix weighing just 45 pounds. He’s available for adoption alongside his best friend and brother, Rio. These two are inseparable and are looking for a loving family to welcome them both into their forever home.Bruno and Rio have been through a lot together. Their owner was heartbroken to surrender them due to a move overseas but had just one wish: that they stay together. They’ve always had each other’s backs, and they truly thrive as a team.Bruno is the playful one of the pair. He absolutely loves tennis balls and could play fetch all day long if given the chance! While he’d enjoy having a yard to chase his favorite toy, what he’d love most is a home filled with love and companionship. This friendly and adaptable pup is great with kids of all ages—he’s even lived with a baby before! Bruno is also dog-friendly and has been thriving in his current foster home with Rio. Because they are a bonded pair, they do everything together and will need to be adopted as a duo.If you’d like to meet Bruno and Rio, please note that they’re currently in foster care, so meet-and-greet appointments must be scheduled in advance. These two best friends are ready to bring twice the love, laughter, and joy to your home. Could you be the family they’ve been waiting for?Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
**Mission is in a foster home and not living at the kennel. Please submit an application at k9stray.com if interested in meeting Mission.** Meet Mission, also known affectionately as Tank. He is a 1.5 year old 85 lb handsome fella looking for his forever home! Mission is a lab mix with nothing but love for his humans. This big puppy is full of energy and loves to play! He's great with other dogs and enjoys every chance to make new friends. Mission is a quick learner and eager to please. He knows basic commands like sit, paw, and fetch, and he's excellent at releasing the ball during playtime. His favorite ball is a spikey ball and he will carry it around proudly for hours. This good lookin dude loves to explore the world on walks and enjoys car rides with his head out the window. He's also a pro at fetch and will happily play all day long. When he's not burning off some energy, he enjoys chewing on a bone and relaxing near his best friends. Mission is house-trained and sleeps peacefully through the night on his dog bed in his foster parent’s bedroom. He's gentle with taking treats and toys. Mission’s ideal home would be an active family wanting to include him in all the activities. Any children would need be over 4 years old in his future home. If you are interested in Mission and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

This girl ended in the shelter due to her owner being arrested and not being able to find her a home. Gracie is a great dog who has fit into her foster home quite well. She is learning about cats and being on a leash. She is housebroken with a dog door but was also house trained without one. She is a bit of energy so will need an active family to keep up! Story
Coquelicot A17207141 lb. spayed female, approx 1 year old -Energetic working type dog-She’s playful and spunky-Very young and puppy like still-Treat motivated. She can be a little jumpy at times but immediately sits for snacks. She’s smart. Takes them nicely too!-Doesn’t seem too interested in toys-Enjoys being close for pets and belly rubs-Decent on a leash with minimal pulling if any-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. •The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
