This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. Link is a very sweet cuddly boy who is closer to a being a cat than a dog but is afraid of strangers. He loves puzzle toys, marrow bones, and stuffed toys made for small dogs, but he doesn’t like fetch or tug. He lives with a cat that hates him and he has started going after them recently. He prefers to be the center of attention and would do best as the only animal in the house but can be acclimated to co-exist around other dogs. He knows all his basics and loose leash walking. He is house-trained (He needs extra time when it is wet out as he hates it). Needs acclimating with any new person and is barrier reactive but will stop when called and good with a muzzle. Being rehomed as he is going after the cat, longer work hours making it harder to give him the care he needs for his fear aggression, and no longer allowed at current residence. Needs someone with time, a quiet home, and loves to cuddle.
