Story
DOVE is a one year old, female border collie/hound mix. She has a cute, little nubbins of a tail that just is the frosting on cake for this precious dog. She is currently in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training because at her age, there is nothing better for a young adult than manners and composure. She is super smart and has picked up on her schooling quickly although her favorite part of the day is snuggling with people. She's great with the other dogs in the program and her favorite toy is her kong. Her perfect family should be an active one with a fenced yard so she can get the proper amount of exercise. We think she'll be fine with children. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our online application. Additional adoption FAQs can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants. Thank you!

Charlie Frost need a home that will help socialize him with the outside world and take him places to meet people and other dogs! We expect them to be a medium size at full maturity. If you're interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of OUR online application at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com, or email us if you submitted an application within the last six months. She loves the outdoors, going on walks and playing catch and tug of war! She gets along with our shitzu just fine, but has issues sometimes with other dogs. The main reason for us needing to re-home is she has become aggressive towards our cat.

Story
Charlie came to us at 6 months old from an animal control shelter. He had a rough time as a puppy and needed lots of love and care. We have now had him for two years and he has rounded out to be a sweet and obedient dog. He loves cuddles, tug of war, and any opportunity to get treats. He is well trained in basic commands and walking. Charlie would thrive in a home with a medium to large yard where he can sprint and play. . He would also be most comfortable in a home with adults or older children and as the only pet or with one other medium sized dog. He is generally very friendly but is anxious and needs reassurance and low stress environments. He is friendly with other dogs but is sensitive about food. He also has been friendly with kids (we have a 10 month old) but likes his personal space and not to be poked and prodded by them. He is very cuddly with adults but struggles with infants and toddlers that do not know enough to respect a dog’s boundaries.

Story
Stella is looking for a forever family to call her own. If you are wanting the sweetest, prettiest, funniest, family dog ever, then this dog is for you. She will sit at your feet while you are busy or play fetch all day. She will bring you the ball and try to toss it to you. She is careful and watchful with little children. She loves to go riding in the truck (inside the cab). We have taken her camping. She does pull on her leash, especially when she sees a squirrel, lol. She is house broken, but does not like the crate, we just put her in the bathroom or outside when we need to. A fenced yard is a must, and she is a bit of an Houdini. And she does not bark all the time. The little bit she does bark sounds like cute yips. Unfortunately she does not get along with our farm animals. She gets along with our dogs, our adult cats (she might be over playful/curious with the kittens), and although she is a little too brave around them, she gets along with the horses.

These pups are in La Grange, Kentucky too!

Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix. If you're looking for the perfect companion, you can choose any adventure you want with this dog. He loves the car so pick a park, pick a kayak, pick a trail - He's ready to go. At home, he's good for zoomies in the yard or settling down for cozies on the couch. He might look a little serious, but he's very affectionate. He's a straightforward dog with simple needs. At his age and maturity level, he does not need to be entertained or exercised all day. He is not a groupie, he just needs his "person", his BFF. Apollo requires a physically fenced in yard and a home without other animals. A graduate of the Paws Behind Bars program, Apollo was awarded the highest praise for his learning. All the volunteers rave how sweet Apollo is and now he is ready for you! If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Apollos picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Story
LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Lennox's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!
