In February 2022, Beauties received a report of a momma dog and 7 newborn puppies in a tiny kennel by a dumpster. Brynne was scared and protective of her family, naturally, but our team was able to get them to safety. Sadly, 2 of the babies had already perished by the time we got the report but the rest survived and found homes long ago. However, Brynne is still looking for a place of her own! She is a good girl who needs a strong leader who can help guide her. She can be a little slow to trust new people but once she does, she is very sweet and playful! She is vocal so no apartment-type living arrangements for her. Brynne is active and does great in doggy daycare. She is getting better on leash. She may bark at some people and vehicles while on walks, and gets anxious / impatient in certain situations especially if she has to wait somewhere. Boarding has been great for exposing her to new people and situations but we look forward to getting her back into a home where she can continue to grow.

In 2023 I was working at my local shelter when this crazy, lovebug came in as a stray. Here, he earned the name Ernie as his bark sounds like an old man :) Ernie stayed at the shelter for several months before I finally caved and adopted him! While I've truly had the best time with this sweet boy, he unfortunately has a fairly high prey drive for cats, and seeing as I own one, I'm making the tough decision to rehome him. During his time at the shelter he got along well with dogs his size or bigger, but when I brought him home with me he became very reactive around other animals, but he is very smart and I believe that with enough training and supervision, he would love a companion to play with! I'm looking for an experienced dog owner (preferably with herding breeds) and with plenty of living space to adopt this loving boy! Story
Dixie has been with us for over 10 years now. She is a sweet girl and we love her to death, but we have a five year old son who is very energetic and doesn’t understand boundaries yet and she doesn’t seem to have much of a tolerance for him. Twice in the past two years, she has nipped at him causing minor injuries not requiring medical attention. We feel that re-homing her would be the best option since we now have and infant in the home as well. She gets along well with adults, older children, and our other dog, a pitbull. Both incidents involved our son getting too close to her face and we think she just got scared. We desperately want to find her a new home where she can live out her remaining years. She is located in Wichita but I am willing to transport her to wherever and will also provide her kennel, food, etc. In addition I will also reimburse whatever adoption fees this website charges.

Hello there, I'm Galleta! I'm a lively, fun-loving gal with a zest for life. My days are filled with playful antics and tail-wagging adventures. I'm quite the chatterbox, always eager to share my thoughts with those around me. I came from a home that predominantly speaks Spanish, so I'm bilingual! And let me tell you, when you baby talk to me in Spanish, I just melt in your lap. I love being part of a family and fit right in with all the hustle and bustle. I'm energetic, always ready for a game of fetch or a brisk walk. I'm also a great listener, always lending a sympathetic ear. I do have an autoimmune disorder called Pemphigus, that was diagnosed at K-State. This can cause blisters where my mucous membranes meet the skin, so my new family will need to help me manage flare-ups throughout my life. But don't worry, I'm mostly potty-trained, crate-trained, and good with kids, making me the perfect family companion. Why should you adopt me?
