He would prefer to be the only pet in the household to avoid resource guarding and to ensure he feels secure.Pippin has been thriving in his foster home! Story
Sweet, sociable, splendid Salem seeks a loving forever home! This beautiful girl is an absolute gem and will bless one lucky household with a limitless amount of love, companionship, and loyalty. Salem found her way to Pal's Place from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. Her breed and past are unknown, but we suspect she's a mix of several breeds combined to create our lovely, beautiful Salem! Border Collie, Labrador, American Bulldog, Shepherd, and more are all possible ancestors in her lineage. Her date of birth is also unknown, but she is a young adult with an estimated age range between 2-4 years and a current weight of 60 pounds. Salem is the kind of dog we think will fit in most households easily and will make a great companion for a family looking for a dog that is still active, playful, and fun-loving but one that also knows when to sit back and relax. She is an excellent mix of energies and is just as content cuddling on the couch as on a hiking trail. Salem is a quietly confident, friendly dog who loves people and greets everyone with a smile on her face and abundant tail wags. Her affectionate, easy-going, engaging personality is what we love most about this sweetheart, and we can't wait for this deserving girl to find her forever family. Salem is well-behaved in the home, crate trained, and does well with her housebreaking when taken out regularly. She loves other dogs almost as much as she loves humans and gets along very well with the several other dogs she shares her foster home with. Salem was recently spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. With her clean bill of health, she's ready for her next chapter: a forever home of her own! Salem's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. She is being fostered on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. •Salem's adoption fee is $375. This fee covers any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Salem from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application, including the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/ or junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after receiving an approved application. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Aries is a loyal and loving dog who is looking for a fresh start after being returned to the shelter when his family had to move. He spent three wonderful years in a home where he lived with another dog and thrived, but he's a bit selective about the dogs he meets. Aries would do best in a home by himself, or one where slow introductions to new canine friends are a priority, allowing him to feel safe and comfortable as he adjusts to new relationships. Aries is protective of his family and home, and he takes his guard duties seriously. He’s got a strong, devoted nature and will make sure to keep his loved ones safe. Aries would benefit from a family that understands his need for structure and mental stimulation. Whether it’s puzzle toys, training exercises, or some problem-solving fun, Aries is eager to use his smarts to stay engaged and content. This sweet boy is looking for an adopter who appreciates his loyalty and is ready to give him the time and attention he needs to thrive. He’ll be a devoted companion to the right family—someone who can give him the love, stability, and mental engagement he deserves. If you're looking for a dog who will be your protector and best friend, Aries might just be the perfect match! Ready to welcome Aries into your home? Reach out today and give this sweet, protective boy the forever home he’s been waiting for!

Story
ATLAS Available for Adoption About Me Hi there! I'm Atlas. My life didn't start out so great - I was left all alone, tied up outside Chicago Animal Care and Control. I was scared out of my mind, not knowing what would happen to me. But then, something amazing happened. The kind folks at C.A.R.E. took me in, and wow, what a difference it's made! I'm still a young pup, not even a year old, but I'm learning so much every day. With lots of love (and let's be honest, plenty of treats), I'm discovering just how brave and smart I can be.' Sure, my past wasn't perfect, but I've got a big heart and I'm ready to forgive and move forward. I love meeting new people and making doggy friends - everyone says I'm a real sweetheart! Now, I'll be honest with you. Sometimes I still get a little nervous when I'm in my kennel. But hey, I'm working on it! With a little more practice and patience, I know I'll overcome this too. After all, I've already come so far! So, what do you say? Want to be part of my amazing journey? I promise to fill your life with love, loyalty, and lots of puppy kisses! I have been microchipped and neutered and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey   Love and Licks AtlasDecember 28, 2024, 4:39 pm
