Story
Age: 1 year Breed: Border Collie mix Sex: Male Weight: 40 lbs Energy Level: Moderate/Still building confidence Jesse is a tenderhearted young Collie mix who recently made the trip from Kentucky to his foster home in southeast Michigan — where the snow was a big new experience! Despite all the changes in his world, Jesse has shown himself to be incredibly gentle, quiet, and people-oriented. He loves pets and is warming up well to his foster family. As he gains confidence, he is starting to show more of his playful puppy energy and behaviors, but he responds well to structure and redirection. Jesse is naturally curious but still finding his confidence. He has begun going on short walks, and he uses a leash well for bathroom breaks while he continues to learn that the world outside is a safe place. With encouragement and routine, he’s already making steady progress. He is crate-trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and has done very well when left alone. This boy is also potty-trained and knows basic cues like “sit” and “no.” Jesse is very food-motivated, which makes training rewarding and fun. Jesse is one of those rare, young dogs who comes with a naturally calm, gentle presence. He’s affectionate, eager to learn, and incredibly resilient for all he's been through. He does have a herding instinct, which he has displayed toward cats and toward young children. He is gentle with the foster family’s four-year-old, but his herding behavior can be overwhelming for small kids. Because of this, he may be best in a home without cats or very young children. With time, consistency, and love, his personality will continue to blossom, and he’ll repay you with loyalty, sweetness, and endless cuddles. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Jesse Facts: - Quiet; not a barker (though might give out a few yips when excited about a treat) - No chewing tendencies observed - Good with baths and handling - Nervous in new situations but adapts with support - Good history with other dogs (per previous foster), though he hasn’t met any in his current home yet - Jesse has shown some herding/prey-drive behaviors toward cats, so he would do best in a cat-free home - Has shown playful herding behavior toward young children; may do best in a home without small kids Please visit Jesse and his friends on our web page. https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143 Noah &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143 Noah is a 6-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix… and 100% lovable goofball. This fuzzy little lovebug is eager to please and just waiting for his forever person or family to choose him. What’s he like? Great with other dogs and loves to play. Equal parts Velcro pup and independent entertainer — he’ll happily dig through the toy basket and keep himself busy. Knows not to chew furniture or shoes, though socks and dryer sheets are his weakness (he’ll drop them when asked!). Can get overstimulated in chaotic environments and prefers slow introductions. He may take a minute to warm up, but he’s worth the wait. Once he trusts you, he is the sweetest snuggle bug who just wants to be close to his person. What can he do? Kennel trained (sleeps through the night and goes in on command). Fully potty trained with subtle but clear cues. Excellent in the car — calm, comfy, and observant. Recently graduated a 10-day obedience program! He knows “wait,” “place,” “come,” “heel,” loose-leash walking, and more. His perfect match? &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Someone committed to continuing his training and staying consistent. &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 A confident, dog-savvy adopter who can guide him and help build his confidence. Noah is smart, silly, and full of heart — he just needs someone ready to have his back forever. Born: April 08, 2025 I'm 30 lbs., and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $450 Faith is a sweet girl with the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and cozy cuddle time. She’s incredibly fast and loves to zoom around when she’s feeling playful, but she’s just as happy curling up for calm snuggles once she’s had some fun. When she first meets new people, Faith can be a little shy and unsure. With a bit of patience and kindness, though, she quickly learns to trust and shows her loving, gentle personality. Watching her confidence grow is really special. Faith truly blossoms around other dogs and enjoys having a canine friend to play with and learn from. She would likely do best in a home with another friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and share in her adventures. Story
I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION. ONCE APPROVED, PLEASE EMAIL US (INFO@ANIMALHOUSESHELTER.COM) OR GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! I am 35 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $300 Meet Mateo – A Gentle Soul in Need of Love Mateo’s sad, soulful eyes tell a story we may never fully know, but what he needs now is a fresh start with a family who will show him kindness and patience. This brindle beauty is super timid, but behind his hesitation is a heart that longs to trust and love. One thing that brings him comfort? Other dogs. He thrives in their company and would do best in a home with a confident canine friend to help him feel safe. With time, patience, and a gentle hand, Mateo will slowly come out of his shell and show just how special he truly is. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive pup who just needs a little extra love to shine, Mateo is waiting for you. Come meet Mateo and give him the second chance he deserves! All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon!
