Story
August is a very loving dog that likes to be petted before he eats. He loves to cuddle and give and receive love. He is very protective with kids and shows no form of aggression unless he thinks someone is in danger. Just recently my daughter and I were playing and she screamed and August tried breaking my door down to get to her. In fact if she is calling him and he doesn’t go to her immediately she would let out a little scream and he would go running to her to make sure he is safe. Unfortunately, due to some changes we are unable to keep August. We are hoping to find a home that is loving and warm because he deserves that and so much more.

Story
Meet Butterscotch, the sweetest snuggle bug with an amazing temperament! This affectionate girl is all about family, happily sharing millions of kisses and gentle cuddles. She's wonderful with kids and enjoys snuggling up at night, often sharing a cozy spot in bed. Butterscotch is also a high-energy adventurer who loves digging, tracking scents, and hunting for chipmunks, so a home with a yard would be ideal for her. Her leash skills are improving with training, but she feels most at ease on familiar, routine walks where she can focus and enjoy herself without getting anxious. Butterscotch would thrive with lots of chew toys and mental stimulation to keep her busy and happy. She's potty-trained, good in the car (though she's a bit of a free spirit!), and does best with a secure harness. She has shown a mixed response to other dogs and can be a little shy around strangers, so she'd appreciate calm introductions and a patient family. Butterscotch does best when crated if left alone, as she has some separation anxiety. With a yard, a bit of structure, and a lot of love, Butterscotch will make the most amazing family dog. If you're ready for a sweet, affectionate, and fun-loving addition, Butterscotch can't wait to meet you! Put in an application to meet her today!

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Patsy is on her second adoptive home. Though we all hoped differently, it’s more like a misfit sock than a cozy pair! She is looking for a new foster or adoptive home ASAP!   Patsy absolutely shines as an only pet in an adult home with a daily dose of exercise, which is what she had in her first adoptive home. Tragically her first mom sadly left this world way shut too soon, leaving Patsy alone in the home feeling confused and uncertain.   Patsy is 35 pounds of sassy sweet fun!  She gets along well with male dogs and can tolerate female dogs who accept her assertive nature.  But she really seems to thrive best as the only dog and ‘child’ in the home - she got used to being the center of some loving pet parent(s) world.    Right now, she may feel like a deer in headlights in a bustling house full of kids or furry pals. There have been some cheeky incidents, like a little nip at a neighbor kid on a bike and a some squabbles over toys and food with other her dog roommate.    We believe she’s a mix of border collie intelligence and Jack Russell bravado. These breeds require someone who is willing to keep up on her training and provide structure - she doesn't need to run the house.  She will actually be a happier dog if she knows her person is in charge.   What Patsy really dreams of is a home that mirrors her first happy digs! Think you could be the perfect match? Give us a shout! Age: 5 y/o Weight: 35 lbs Temperament: Gets along with male dogs and submissive females; does like to be boss :) Respectful, older kids. Training: Housetrained, crate-trained Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm neg Email for questions: jamie@doggieharmony.org To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.  November 6, 2024, 12:45 pm

Story
Diva and Dede are boarder collies. They can be separated but prefer to stay together. They are crate and house trained. They just need more yard and have out grown our neighborhood, we hear fireworks often and they get scared. They are really sweet dogs. Good with kids, may bark when scared or see strangers but they are harmless. They listen and are motivated by food. Large yard preferred to rehome. Willing to help cover expenses for the first 6 months to a good home. Free to a good home. They love people and are very playful.

Story
Sabrina is an amazing dog who just needs someone willing to work with her. She is amazing with children (just needs work on being too excited around small children but has gotten much better with our fosters 2 year old) She is most definitely mixed with a working breed - she needs consistent exercise to be a calm house dog and will become destructive if her mind isn’t stimulated. She absolutely loves sniff walks and fetch to wear her out and work her brain. She will need a more involved owner who understands her needs. She has a lot of allergies and our vet believes her skin issues may just be a chronic life long struggle. She is taking 1/2 an apoquel a day and her foster supplements with calming treats and allergy/immune boost treats daily. We have not done an elimination diet to determine exact allergies, but she is currently eating Rachel Ray Limited Ingredient (Just 6 depending on bag design/store) Lamb flavor and has been doing better! She still has bald spots and flare ups if the weather is bad or she gets stressed out. We’re working on determining when it happens to try and eliminate the flare ups so her hair can grow back fully. Currently all 4 shoulders have some degree of baldness and occasional bumps from her chewing, but I’ve been keeping sweaters on her and the calming treats to try and get her to leave the area alone long enough for the hair to grow back. She’s got some unique quirks that make her even more special! She is described as being cat like - she absolutely loves to be up high looking over everything. When outside, she can be found hopping onto the patio table to look in windows or take a nap. She’s also been caught napping on top of book shelves or any surface big enough to hold her body and she’ll curl up like she’s meant to be there! She has no fear when it comes to humans, but can be skittish in the house when it comes to switching rooms or entering/exiting like she’s unsure what will come from the other room. She does alright with other dogs in neutral territory, but does resource guard her food, kennel, and occasionally the fosters sun room if she can see the other dogs filtering in and out while she’s hanging out in there. However, she responds incredibly well to correction and is eager to please! With or without treats, she loves to practice new skills and is working incredibly hard to be calm in the house! She still has trouble channeling her energy some days if she hasn’t had enough stimulation, but you can see how hard she tries to maintain composure during training sessions! She’s a work in progress, but her personality and temperament are perfect for someone looking for a loyal dog that’s willing to do anything from cuddle on the couch to adventure with them! https://www.pupandcatco.com/
