Story
Sabrina is an amazing dog who just needs someone willing to work with her. She is amazing with children (just needs work on being too excited around small children but has gotten much better with our fosters 2 year old) She is most definitely mixed with a working breed - she needs consistent exercise to be a calm house dog and will become destructive if her mind isn’t stimulated. She absolutely loves sniff walks and fetch to wear her out and work her brain. She will need a more involved owner who understands her needs. She has a lot of allergies and our vet believes her skin issues may just be a chronic life long struggle. She is taking 1/2 an apoquel a day and her foster supplements with calming treats and allergy/immune boost treats daily. We have not done an elimination diet to determine exact allergies, but she is currently eating Rachel Ray Limited Ingredient (Just 6 depending on bag design/store) Lamb flavor and has been doing better! She still has bald spots and flare ups if the weather is bad or she gets stressed out. We’re working on determining when it happens to try and eliminate the flare ups so her hair can grow back fully. Currently all 4 shoulders have some degree of baldness and occasional bumps from her chewing, but I’ve been keeping sweaters on her and the calming treats to try and get her to leave the area alone long enough for the hair to grow back. She’s got some unique quirks that make her even more special! She is described as being cat like - she absolutely loves to be up high looking over everything. When outside, she can be found hopping onto the patio table to look in windows or take a nap. She’s also been caught napping on top of book shelves or any surface big enough to hold her body and she’ll curl up like she’s meant to be there! She has no fear when it comes to humans, but can be skittish in the house when it comes to switching rooms or entering/exiting like she’s unsure what will come from the other room. She does alright with other dogs in neutral territory, but does resource guard her food, kennel, and occasionally the fosters sun room if she can see the other dogs filtering in and out while she’s hanging out in there. However, she responds incredibly well to correction and is eager to please! With or without treats, she loves to practice new skills and is working incredibly hard to be calm in the house! She still has trouble channeling her energy some days if she hasn’t had enough stimulation, but you can see how hard she tries to maintain composure during training sessions! She’s a work in progress, but her personality and temperament are perfect for someone looking for a loyal dog that’s willing to do anything from cuddle on the couch to adventure with them! https://www.pupandcatco.com/

Story
Meet Archie, our charming Border Collie mix with a heart as big as his energy! Archie came to our shelter with a broken leg, already healing by the time he arrived. Now fully recovered and maintained on joint supplements, Archie is ready for his forever home. He’s a bundle of joy, always eager to play and cuddle. Archie adores his chew bone, frozen stuffed kong, and a peanut butter-filled frisbee to keep cool during hot summer days. His ideal family would have children and a fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart`s content. Archie dreams of being an indoor dog, snuggling up with his family while they watch TV. If you`re looking for a sweet, energetic companion who’s ready to fill your home with love and laughter, Archie is the perfect pup for you!Archie`s adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in adopting Archie you may fill out an application at www.tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet him/her first. Story
We’re excited to share that Olivelynn Designs is graciously sponsoring a limited number of adoptions throughout December for approved applicants. During this special promotion, adoption fees for adult dogs and cats will be waived (some restrictions apply). Please note that puppies and kittens are not included in this promotion. The generous support from Olivelynn Designs is invaluable in helping these precious animals find loving homes just in time for the holidays. We’re incredibly grateful for their support!Meet Jackson! /(^.^)\ Hello everyone, my name is Jackson and I am a 1.5 year old Border Collie Mix with a black and white coat. I currently weigh 56 pounds. I thrive on love and attention and enjoy romping in my kiddie pool or curling up for cuddles. I absolutely LOVE water, whether that means standing in my water bowl, jumping in the lake, or attacking the water that flies out of the hose! I am high-energy and would do well with an active family. I am extremely smart and need to keep my mind active; I like to do interactive puzzles. I would do better with older children as I am a herding dog and may be too much for a small child. I can be dog selective and would need a proper introduction; I have shown some resource guarding with toys. I walk well on a leash too. Currently, I am available for adoption. If you`re interested in adopting Jackson, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. All of my love and excellent swim skills, Jackson /(^.^)\",AVAILABLE"
