Story
Owner surrendered to the shelter at 10 yrs old and overweight. Anna is a sweet Border Collie girl who is working hard at loosing weight. She has slimmed down to 63 lbs. A low energy girl who loves going for walks in the morning and can be found sitting at the door waiting to go. Anna is great walking on leash. We are up to a quarter mile now on our walks. She will watch other animals she sees but she does not chase. Anna ignores barking dogs and other dogs passing by her. She has picked up sticks and proudly carried them on our walks. Anna loves shaking and squeaky soft toys. Car rides are a big favorite with Anna. She stays quietly in the back watching out the window. Amazingly she can get into the car all by herself. Another favorite of Anna's is to lay outside for hours. Anna is in a foster home with 4 other dogs, both big and small. She is content laying on the floor, dog bed and can get herself up on the sofa. Anna is house trained. Anna would be happiest with a person who can spend a lot of time with her. Children over 12 who are respectful of her age will be ok. NO CATS.

Story
Adora is my very first foster dog. And she is a lovely girl. Her house manners are amazing! She knows basic commands: Sit, Wait, Watch, Down. Her recall is better each day. She's pretty good on leash, and improving every day. The great outdoors can be a bit over-stimulating, but after only a few days, even outdoors she will Watch, Sit, Down, and Come with increasing confidence. And she's such a good traveler. She's very agreeable, loves to be petted, follows me everywhere. She gives amazing eye contact indoors and getting better at that outdoors every day. She wants to greet everyone. She's good with large dogs, but over-exuberant with small dogs. Not good with cats, but I think even that will improve with time. Haven't had a chance to test her with children. The day after she came to me, I bathed her, combed out all the clumps of fur, trimmed her nails, clipped the fur between toes, and brushed her teeth. She was a trooper through it all! She does not guard food or toys. And she's very polite. She gets on very well with my 10 year old greyhound... they sleep next to each other. Adora is very food driven, has a very soft mouth so easy to train with tiny bits of Beggin Strips. She is Heartworm Negative, is on NexGardSpectra (heartworm, flea, tick preventive). Rabies, 12/3/2024 DAPP, 11/14/2024 Neopar, 11/7/2024 Microchip #992000003475194 All in all, she's a terrific dog, healthy, happy, affectionate. She just needs a little time to adapt to the outside world. And oh my, she is very smart! And did I mention that she's beautiful! Please consider giving her a forever home...

Story
Sadie is new to our rescue. She has been in a shelter since February after being confiscated from a hoarding case. She is very sweet but also very shy. She does warm up quickly and will need time to feel comfortable and trust. She is a complete joy and very happy. She will do best in a home with another dog and is most comfortable with MK, another dog from the hoarding case we have taken with her. Both dogs are located at our sanctuary and rescue location in North Florida/Panhandle. Meet and greets for our South Florida adopters would be arranged in Live Oak, FL.  ##1856664##

Story
Koda is 11 months old his birthday is Christmas! He’s a great dog and has basic commands down. He’s crate trained and very loyal to his own. The main reason we are looking to re home is due to being in our 20’s and not being able to give him the time and attention he needs and deserves. He loves to play and run around. He does have some behaviors that need attention and training. He’s food aggressive with animals and doesn’t know how to play well with other animals in a healthy way. He doesn’t know his own strength and can be aggressive. He’s got some sass for sure but has a beautiful heart and loves snuggles and kisses. With the proper training and discipline he will be an amazing dog. We unfortunately just don’t have the finances or time to give him what he needs. We just want him to be happy and healthy. We can supply his crate, food/water bowls, his bed and toys.

Story
Lila is a purebred Australian Shepherd. We adopted her at the age of 1. She’s been our family dog for 7 years. She is a beautiful and loving dog. She loves catching ball and can do this for hours! She is brilliant with releasing ball and will wait for you to throw and keep coming back for more. She was trained by Sarasota Dog Wizards in their 2 week board and train program. She would do great as an only dog - we learned that she does resource guard and although she has been used to living with another dog she does sometimes provoke fights over food. She is also anxious. We also grew our family and our oldest has been diagnosed on the spectrum. His running around and jumping spinning and other behaviors definitely have made her more anxious. She would do great with a fenced in yard or with family with older kids whom don’t have such abrupt unpredictable movements.
