Story
Blaine is a gentle soul who is looking for a patient and understanding home. He can be quite shy at first, especially with new people, but once he gets to know you, he'll shower you with affection. Blaine absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help him come out of his shell. While Blaine is still learning to trust humans, he is incredibly sweet and cuddly once he warms up to you. He loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch for pets and belly rubs. Blaine is crate trained and potty trained, making him a low-maintenance housemate. He is also a big fan of chew toys, which help keep him entertained and occupied. Blaine is easily startled and can be timid in new situations, so he would do best in a calm and quiet household. With time, patience, and lots of love, Blaine will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Could you be the one to give Blaine the loving home he deserves? Like the easy life? Then I'm the perfect match for you.  I'm relaxed, laid-back kind of do who enjoys long naps, watching movies, curling up on laps, and walking very short distances from the couch to the food bowl and back. Story
Stitch loves nothing more than his people, his foster siblings, belly rubs, and his tennis ball! Hes an energetic guy who is down to do whatever you want to do walk, hike, go for a ride, hang out at a restaurant patio, lay in the sun, lounge on the couch you name it except for swimming (which his foster parents will be working on now that the weather is nice). He is super smart, extremely athletic, and loyal. He would love a home with or without kids but definitely without cats. He is cautious when meeting new canine friends but does well with slow introductions. Once he is comfortable with his new friends he loves to play and cuddle. Stitch knows all his basic commands; sit, stay, no, shake, walks well on a leash, and his recall is amazing. He is e-collar trained, although he really doesnt need it anymore as he listens quite well. Did we mention how handsome he is?Apply at www.fursisters.org today!Additional information:We are not a shelter. All of our dogs are at private fosters. We only set up meets with approved adopters. If you want to meet our adoptable dogs, many pups will be at Brewhound for Fur Sisters Friday most Fridays from 6-8 pm.Adopters are chosen based on the best fit for each dog, it is not first come, first served. We do not 'hold' dogs. Please note: we have many dogs who are not yet listed as available due to the availability of volunteer time to post or because they are puppies. If you are looking for a dog, we recommend filling out an application and indicating what you are looking for in a dog. Story
This is Stella. Please read the whole post before applying to adopt. She is a very special girl with special needs.Stella came to us from living on her own, not knowing the comfort of a home or even a human touch. She had to be trapped for her safety. She was in Union County, we saw her sweet little scared face and immediately stepped in to take her in to rescue. She is currently in foster with me, Kelly, the founder of the rescue. She is a lot of work but 100% worth the effort. Stella is around 10 months old. She came to us in December right before Christmas. She was living outside on someone's property and had to be trapped due to her fear of humans. She has made progress here and loves our dogs. She looks to them for comfort and guidance. She is very playful with them now that she is settled in. She is still very scared of new people and things. We are working on that, but it's a slow process. She was pretty much feral when she came to us. She is housebroken now here, but that may take time in a new environment until she is comfortable again. She sleeps in bed with us now, and that's where she is most comfortable with humans. She likes pets and belly runs when in bed. When out in the house, she still is very timid and will run if you try to pet or pick up. She is getting better with that too..but slow going. I'm trying to introduce her to more people to her used to it. She is a flight risk, so a very secure fenced yard is required. We are starting to work on getting her used to a leash, but that still terrifies her. So we are taking it slow in the backyard for now. I'm happy to chat more about her and her needs via phone call with anyone interested and willing to put in the work. Our vet thinks she is a mini aussie mix of some sort. She is adorable and sweet..just very scared and needs someone willing to have patience with her. Serious inquiries only, please. She will stay with us until the perfect home is found for her. Dogs like Stella are hard, but they teach us so much in the process of teaching her about the world she doesn't understand yet.
