Please contact Marilyn at 856-275-6905 for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 856-275-6905 (call or text) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com&#226&#128&#139 Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 December 18, 2024, 11:31 am

Story
ABOUT ZIGGY ZAG Meet the king of sass, Ziggy Zag! This goofy guy is a 2-year-old mix breed with lots of personality. Ziggy came to HAP because he wasn't fond of sharing toys with the other dog in their home. Despite this, Ziggy loves to play with people and has been such a gentle giant! He quickly became a staff favorite for his endless sound effects and ability to hold a conversation. Ziggy loves to tell you his feelings, what can we say, he's an emotional boy. He's also a very smart guy who already knows basic commands, appears house trained, walks well on a leash, and is crate trained! His favorite activities include sunbathing, lounging on a cozy bed, and sprawling out on your legs. Needless to say, this guy appreciates a good nap! Ziggy would do best in a home environment as the only pet, though he is friendly to other pups out on walks! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Polar 6 month old Border Collie mix This happy-go-lucky boy has been waiting for his forever home since September. He has watched all of his siblings and friends get adopted and is waiting for his turn. He walks BEAUTIFULLY on the leash and enjoys exploring new places like trails, farmers markets, breweries, etc. He is very social and introduces to strangers, kids, and other dogs very well. He does have herding instincts and wouldn't do well with cats, and may knock over little kiddos just starting to walk. Polar needs a decent sized yard and fenced would be best. He also needs a decent space indoors for those silly zoomies. Polar is neutered, microchipped, has ALL of his vaccines (Rabies, Bordatella, Parvo/ Distemper x3) and is UTD on monthly preventatives. To add him to your forever family, please send us a detailed application from www.puppiesareworthsaving.com. The adoption would be within 2-3 days of applying and the entire family must be present. We do not allow puppies to be given as gifts or surprises. Foster location: Havre de Grace, MD

Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. Story
Remo! This warrior miracle knows his forever family will come. Is it you? Here is a reminder of this guy’s story…When he was only several weeks old, he was found in a ditch, dragging his hind quarters, possibly due to being hit by a car. Sadly, this little guy was left to die. Stray Network stepped up, rescued him, gave him a name and a chance. It was determined that Remo needed extensive surgeries to repair compressed discs in his spine and a severely broken back leg. In the months that he has been with us, he’s gone from being paralyzed to walking and even running short distances. Remo is consistently working hard to regain strength and to heal nerve damage in his back legs. This is done by having him up and walking around the house or yard. He is one determined, treat motivated guy! Remo loves attention from people. He enjoys playing with other dogs. He is good on a leash and is able to take short, leisurely walks. His forever family should realize that while he does have limitations, he is still healing and it’s beneficial to have him continue to work on moving and strengthening his back legs. No doubt he will his show his forever family lots of love and bring happiness to their lives. Remo is neutered and fully vetted! To apply for Remo, visit straynetwork.org
