This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. Link is a very sweet cuddly boy who is closer to a being a cat than a dog but is afraid of strangers. He loves puzzle toys, marrow bones, and stuffed toys made for small dogs, but he doesn’t like fetch or tug. He lives with a cat that hates him and he has started going after them recently. He prefers to be the center of attention and would do best as the only animal in the house but can be acclimated to co-exist around other dogs. He knows all his basics and loose leash walking. He is house-trained (He needs extra time when it is wet out as he hates it). Needs acclimating with any new person and is barrier reactive but will stop when called and good with a muzzle. Being rehomed as he is going after the cat, longer work hours making it harder to give him the care he needs for his fear aggression, and no longer allowed at current residence. Needs someone with time, a quiet home, and loves to cuddle.

If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). Remo! This warrior miracle knows his forever family will come. Is it you? Here is a reminder of this guy’s story…When he was only several weeks old, he was found in a ditch, dragging his hind quarters, possibly due to being hit by a car. Sadly, this little guy was left to die. Stray Network stepped up, rescued him, gave him a name and a chance. It was determined that Remo needed extensive surgeries to repair compressed discs in his spine and a severely broken back leg. In the months that he has been with us, he’s gone from being paralyzed to walking and even running short distances. Remo is consistently working hard to regain strength and to heal nerve damage in his back legs. This is done by having him up and walking around the house or yard. He is one determined, treat motivated guy! Remo loves attention from people. He enjoys playing with other dogs. He is good on a leash and is able to take short, leisurely walks. His forever family should realize that while he does have limitations, he is still healing and it’s beneficial to have him continue to work on moving and strengthening his back legs.
