Story
Everyone meet Merle, a 2 year male old border collie mix. Merle is a super sweet and loving border collie mix who loves his people. Merle needs room to run and would be best suited for a home with a big yard. Merle came to us as a medical dog with a big gash on the side of neck. He is all healed up and took the injury in stride. Merle loves to play with other dogs but much prefers people but would love a dog brother or sister The following must-have's for Merle -big fenced yard -patience for a young dog mind -time -herding dog experience -active -home often Bonus: another dog to play with No on the following; condos or town homes ex Merle is on the lankier side for a border collie..but still only weighs about 40 lbs or so. He does have young dog energy and does need to learn some manners but it's all good natured. He would also be best suited for someone that can handle a medium/large dog. He is very eager to please and bonds deeply with his people. Loves all people and most dogs he meets! Merle loves car rides, is good on leash, a gentlemen in public and just an all-around good dog. He does have some separation anxiety but once in a routine, it gets much better. Crate training is recommended as he loads up in the crate with ease. Merle is healthy, neutered, chipped and all up-to-date on vaccines If he sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
!n Santa Cruz - Meet Ranger, a 8 year old Border Collie male. Ranger is is typical border collie who is playful and super smart. Ranger came to us after his owner passed away. He was loved but didn't get out too much. He was 1 of 4+ plus dogs and we think the dogs were left to their own devices. With this being said, Ranger can be nervous in public and is more of a homebody. Ranger can be good with other dogs when he gains trust with them but we think he be best suited for a home as the only pet (no cats). Ranger's ideal home would be: -a home where he can be a priority -a home experienced with border collies or other herding breeds -owners that are understanding of his sensitives in pubic -would be best suited as the only pet Ranger is a fun loving border collie but he also has an off switch! He is perfectly happy relaxing on the couch hanging out with his owners. Ranger will make his people very happy but they also need to be understanding of his background and manage his environment. Ranger is; fully house trained, has good house manners, no nuisance barking and is easy to live with. He also has some basic training under the right circumstances. Ranger is is neutered, up-to-date and microchipped. If you would like to learn more about this sweet guy, please submit an application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
Traka is a 1-2 year old 40lbs spayed border collie who is great with other dogs and people! She came to us with a broken leg, but her leg is  healed and she’s ready to go. This girl is HIGH DRIVE! She’s very busy and needs someone who understands the breed and will provide her with an outlet. She has high prey drive, so please no cats or livestock. She is crate trained, housebroken, and is great in the car, but please no apartments. She loves to go on leashed hikes. She is a beautiful and really fun and very sweet dog, but needs someone who understands the breed and will work with her.  Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc January 20, 2025, 12:29 am
