Story
It's pretty impossible not to love Ahi! Ahi is a 1-year-old goofball who is always on the lookout for fun. Like a true herding breed dog, she loves to always be on the move and is a smart girl who loves to learn. She is a special girl as she was born deaf, but that doesn't stop her from being a happy-go-lucky pup. Ahi is full-grown at just under 40lbs. Ahi is currently being fostered by the family who adopted her sister. Unfortunately, Ahi's previous owners were not able to keep up with her exercise requirements and she was returned to the person who bred her mom. Once her foster family heard about her, they wasted no time to come to her rescue and we were happy to make her a YCSPCA dog and help find her fur-ever home. Ahi is a confident girl who loves to explore and make new friends. She has come to a few adoption events and has blown us away with how social she is out and about. She would be a great dog for someone who likes to go to dog-friendly breweries. She is a higher-energy girl, so she needs an active family that will ensure she gets lots of daily exercise and enrichment to keep her busy mind and body happy. She is still learning all her basic manners (especially how to not get too excited when saying hello), so her new family will need to be committed to working on her training and helping her learn how to be the best girl she can be. She is VERY food-motivated and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. Ahi's lack of hearing doesn't slow her down one bit, but training can be a little more difficult since she can't hear. She needs a dog-savvy family that has experience with deaf dogs or is eager to learn how to work with her and possibly hire a professional trainer to learn how to communicate with Ahi. Ahi loves other dogs, but not all dogs are the biggest fan of her boisterous play style, so she may do best as the only dog in the home. She has made a few dog friends and loves to have playdates with her best buds. Ahi needs a cat-free and adult-only home. Ahi is housetrained in her foster home, but her new family should be patient with her while she is settling into a new home and routine and expect a few accidents. Ahi is crate-trained and does well in her crate overnight and when her foster family isn't home. Ahi is such a rockstar dog and we know she is going to make a great companion for the right family. If she sounds like the right-hand girl for you, submit an adoption application today!   Ahi's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and are given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. June 29, 2024, 10:23 pm

(((READ ALL INFO BEFORE INQUIRING PLEASE))))) Steps needed to adopt Step 1) complete the application, the link is below https://form.jotform.com/81702264428152 Step 2) Thoroughly read any info about the dog. Review the rescues adoption procedures and process. Thoroughly research the breed. Please do not submit multiple emails or applications. We will contact you if we feel your home is a good fit. ALL dogs and cats in the rescue must be spayed/neutered in the rescue. Because puppies may be to young to undergo surgery, they are placed on our spay and neuter schedule. If they are adopted prior to their surgery date, the adopter must agree to either bring the dog back for their spay/neuter, or complete the alter at their own vet with a special contract in place and proof of the alter within a timeframe. If submitting an application for a puppy under 4 months, they might not yet be altered and are on the schedule. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >>>>>>About the Dog

Story
This handsome dog was given to my son by his older brother. He thought his little brother who was moving to LA to live in an apartment needed a dog. He has had him in LA for about 6 months but with his work schedule, he can not give this sweet dog the time he needs. He needs a yard and my son lives in an apartment. He brought the dog back to Woodland to stay with his brother while we tried to find him a home. My older son can not keep him because he already has 3 dogs. Dee is a happy dog and he loves to play with other dogs. He sits when told and he is potty trained. He does need room to run and play. He weighs 50 lbs, he is neutered and his shots are up to date. Please help us find him a good loving home!

Story
Hi everyone, This is Wilson, a 3 year old border collie/lab mix (so we were told). He is a very sweet and energetic dog - he has never shown any form of aggression towards anyone or anything. The reason for rehoming is we just don't have the time to give him the life he deserves. My mom is in her 60s and she works full time, and I am a full time student who works every hour I'm not in school. So unfortunately, he spends a lot of time home alone, and he deserves better. But given our own life and financial circumstances, we are unable to change our schedule to accommodate his needs. We would love to find him a new and loving home.

If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. Good with kids, Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Hello this is Max, A goofy lovable boy who needs a new home. We rescued max from a farm which was taking his brothers and sisters to the pound. He is 11 months old and will be turning 1 year old this June 23rd. Max is a curious full of energy dog. He is a working dog (sheep herding dog) but is currently an outside dog but sleeps inside in his crate at night. Max needs a family with a decent sized back yard as he is full of energy and loves to play. He loves walks and need to be walked at least once a day and or tired out playing fetch. Max has had difficulty being socialized. Border collies are very smart and thrive with mental and physical stimulation. So someone who has time to dedicate to this good boy is necessary. He is the sweetest and loves to cuddle but can sometimes forget he’s not puppy sized anymore.

These pups are in Sacramento, California too!
