Story
Hi, I'm Lexie! I'm young, with a heart full of curiosity and playfulness. My days are filled with exploring and learning, I'm quite the smart cookie. You see, I'm a herding working dog, so I'm full of energy and independence. But don't let that fool you, I'm also incredibly sweet and gentle. I might be a bit shy when we first meet, but once I get to know you, I promise to be the most loyal friend you've ever had. I'm looking for a family who can match my energy, and who loves to learn and play as much as I do and knows my needs as a working breed. If you're looking for a companion who's not only smart and energetic but also sweet and loyal, then I might just be the perfect fit for you! I am fully vetted and ready for my new home. Adoption fee is $400. Email my rescue at ALPHADOGPETRESCUE@YAHOO.COM and ask for my adoption application. LEXIE IS 1 YR OLD AND 48 POUNDS.

Story
Chino is a good dog for the right home, but he has two flaws: he doesn't care to share an environment with any other dogs, and he can escape from almost any confinement. Since we like Border Collies in general, and since he was "overdue" at his animal shelter one day when we were there picking up another dog, he was also chosen and saved. We quickly learned that the part of Chino that is not Border Collie is probably one of the tundra breeds like Malamute, because we had to fully enclose every inch of his kennel to keep him in. (This was after he escaped from four previous attempts to kennel him.) The good news is that after escaping he only wanted to stay by the side of his human friends here at the rescue, so he'll need a pretty much constant human companion. Chino is about 3 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.

Story
Blissy is a 1-year-old (as of February 1, 2024) mixed breed pup whose owner had to relinquish her due to incompatibility with her other female dog, the "alpha" dog in the home. Blissy did well with the two male dogs, and in our experience here she has done well with another female that is not a dominant girl. We think she is probably Shepherd-Border Collie or some such mix, and she's incredibly smart. Blissy "play-nips" gently when excited, which makes us think Border Collie or some other herding breed may be in her gene pool. She's mostly housebroken, knows many commands (typically having to be told only once), aims to please, and loves long walks. Her ex-owner says Blissy "is an absolutely wonderful dog" whom she will greatly miss.

Story
Meet Tommy Lee! This happy guy is a 1yo, Border Collie mix. He is a social butterfly that gets along with other dogs and has lots of energy to run around and play fetch. Tommy would be a great hiking buddy with someone that loves the outdoors just as much as he does. He is potty trained, good on leash and has no food aggression. He is microchipped, will be neutered soon and has his vaccinations!

These pups are in Oxnard, California too!

Story
Rocket is about a year old and was given to me by a friend of a friend. He is very active and loves to play. He is decent on walks but needs a little more training on not pulling on the leash. I would prefer him to have a nice sized yard to run around in and go to someone who would be fairly active with him. Rocket is very friendly with people and kids but needs to be socialized more with other dogs.

Story
Enzo is 1year and 8 months. We got Enzo from a breeder in Perris,Ca. We want Enzo to go to someone who has time and the space for him. He is a very energetic dog and requires a lot of time and attention. Enzo is an outside dog but is also trained to be inside. He is a protective dog , he knows the basics such as , sitting , down , leave it etc. He gets intimidated by kids, sometimes by other dogs and people. He needs behavioral training. Other than that he’s is a very loving loyal dog. We’ve had Enzo since he was 2 months old.
