Lucky may not be like our usual GLAR recruits (as in tiny, and often of the chihuahua variety ) but we are so glad to help her just the same. One of our fantastic volunteers has been fostering her alone without the help of a rescue, and needs more help making sure Lucky is seen! Lucky is 7 months old, weighs approximately 30lbs, and has all the zest for life (think Buddy the Elf ). She is some sort of Border Collie mix and is beautiful! She has all the puppy energy and needs a job. (As a result, we will only consider applicants who have experience with working breeds, and those who can provide a plan to help ensure Lucky’s needs will be met.) Lucky is fully vaccinated and will be microchipped and spayed prior to adoption. She is anxiously awaiting her forever person to form that special bond. I rescued her at 16 weeks old from a local shelter. She is now almost 11 months old. She is fun, active and curious. She loves to run through the sprinklers, splash in a kiddie pool and run around in circles. She loves puzzles and squeaky toys. She would do best in a home that has yard space for her to be active. She would do well with people who like to go outdoors for her to explore and for regular walks. She does well in her crate overnight and is house trained. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Dwight is good with kids! He hasn’t been tested around cats. He is good with the dogs inside of the home, but is nervous around dogs outside of the home. Dwight is deaf. The owner is surrendering him because they are unable to provide the time and attention he needs. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Dwight, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. In Long Beach Bella is a black bicolor, 45-pound, 2-yr-old Australian Kelpie mix with blue-ticked toes who is sure she will win your heart! This affectionate lap dog gets along well with every person and dog she encounters. She quickly gains confidence around other dogs. This friendly girl would do best in a home with one or more dogs - the more, the merrier for Bella! Likes: - Being brushed - Being pet - Cuddling, hiking, or nearly any activity with her people - Playing with dog friends - Chasing balls Fears: - Fireworks - Raised voices or loud noises - Bath time We rescued Bella from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter. She is praise-motivated and learns best when not scolded, as she seems to have a history of abuse and braces when voices are raised. She would do best in a home where she has space to run and play with other dogs and where she can get frequent exercise. True to her herding dog heritage, she is attentive to commands and is calm around livestock and other animals. She is highly Velcro and has high energy.
