Story
Border Collie mix, male puppyFIGGY is a gorgeous 8 mo/55lb male Border Collie puppy. He’s neutered, chipped, and up to date on vaccines. He’s ready for his forever home. As you may expect with any Border Collie, he is intelligent, sweet and friendly. He’s a touch apprehensive until he gets used to you, but he is well-adjusted and a very good boy. Figgy has been in foster since he was five weeks old. He’s the perfect age to adopt as he’s gotten through the most challenging parts of puppyhood, but he’s still young and impressionable. Figgy is crate trained, house trained (but still a puppy, so he needs carefully watching for cues that he needs to go out) and walks well on a leash. He likes to stick by his human’s side, and definitely has that border collie drive and eagerness to please. He walks himself back into his crate on command. Very treat motivated and loves to learn (great for training!). Hasn’t been tested with cats, but is very dog friendly. He needs a herding dog savvy home without young children, someone with the time and energy to train and socialize a young puppy, and who is looking for a lifelong companion. He would do well in a house with or without other dogs, but he’d do best in a house with dogs 30lbs+. Figgy is being fostered in Bakersfield. Story
Border Collie mix, female 4 years oldHi- I’m Roo! I’m doing great and making progress with my foster mom, Kim. She feeds me yummy things and takes me out on walks. Oh and she is very patient with me. I love when she has conversations with me, that really gets my tail going. I’ve been exploring more places in and out of the house, gaining exposure to as many things as possible, but my safe space is under Kim’s bed. Although, recently I tried on top of the bed and that was pretty cozy too. I am a 4 year old, female border collie that weights approximately 36lbs. Located in SoCal / OC area. Stay tuned as I continue to come out of my shell and blossom into the best girl.   Photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1228281524800166&type=3 Interested in Roo?  Please fill out an application at: https://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppOctober 3, 2024, 5:02 pm

Story
Border Collie female puppy  Cambria is a 4 month old McNab/Border Collie. She’s losing the last of her baby teeth and gaining in confidence.  She: Is potty trained (doggy door champ) sleeps soundly through the night rarely barks walks well on leash calm / mellow (NOT super high energy)  Cambria is truly a very easy puppy and a sweet and sensitive soul. She enjoys the company of her “packmates” and looks to them for guidance and direction. She is mastering the art of “sit” and adores her 7 year old human foster sibling who is very calm and patient with her. She’s now also very affectionate with her humans.   If you have a herding savvy home, ideally with another balanced dog or two, this might be your girl. Cambria is microchipped, on a vaccine schedule and can be adopted out on a spay contract. Story
Border Collie male puppyCruz is about three months old, a Border Collie/McNab pup from Tulare County.  Cruz came into rescue with his sister Cambria.  They were pretty unsure little puppies upon arrival at CCHDR, but they are quickly being put at ease by the happy, balanced adult and puppies they’re with.   They are also getting calm human interaction, all in preparation for their forever homes.    We're looking for confident, experienced adopters to continue giving them what they should have had all along.   Cruz and Cambria are in Templeton.   More photos, updates, and video:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1253999505561701&type=3   Interested in Cruz and/or Cambria?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppOctober 3, 2024, 5:02 pm

Story
Max is a 13, purebred classic border collie from working lines. He's neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. Max has a bit of a hitch in the giddyup but he still has plenty of get up & go, eager to go for a walk or whatever you are doing. He has some issues with rain/wind/storms and tends to hide, otherwise he is head-on-your knee loving attention! Max gets along with other dogs, kids & cats, but he will need some TLC in his senior years.
