Story
We are looking to rehome our 3.5-year-old Border Collie, a healthy and house-trained working purebred with a fun, loving, and intelligent personality. He came from a sheep farm in Missouri and has a strong instinct for herding, though he's also a fantastic companion for a variety of activities. Whether you’re looking for an energetic hiking buddy or a chilled-out dog to relax with at home, he's adaptable to both. He is highly trainable and would excel in agility or herding training, making him a perfect fit for someone with an active lifestyle. Due to personal circumstances, my husband has moved overseas, with a already busy schedule for the wife, it's challenging to give him the attention he deserves while caring for our senior dog(another 12 years old dog at home). We’re hoping to find a home where he can thrive, he can be a good company at home, but preferably with someone who enjoys outdoor activities and has the time to provide the mental and physical stimulation he needs.

Story
This is a courtesy posting.  SYLSVESTER is at the Kern County Shelter (Bakersfield, CA).  If you are in the Bay Area and could foster him, reach out to us.  This shy sweet little 30lb Border Collie has had quite the adventure of late.  He was at an adoption event when he decided to try to find his own way home(!)  He was lost for a month, but is now found and back at the very full shelter.  He needs a foster, adopter, or rescue ASAP as they are over full and euthanizing for space :(  Here's his shelter bio from his Doggie Day Out: Sylvester is a shy boy, but so so affectionate. He takes his time to open up, but once he does he’s a sweet and bubbly puppy. He does well with other dogs and would be good with dog-savvy children who know to give him time and space. We did not encounter any cats today. Sylvester, at 10mo old, has had an unsettled life so far. He was adopted but landed back at the shelter due to no fault of his own (original adopters moved). Then he was lost for an entire month.  He is SO ready to find his true forever family now. The ideal adopter would be patient and willing to go slow and help Sylvester realize the world isn’t as scary as he may think. Someone who can help get him build his confidence. Sylvester rides great in the car, doesn’t pull on the leash, and catches treats. He tilts his head so cute when you make kissy noises and whistle at him. He likes being sweet talked and always wiggles the end of his tail. This sweet boy so wants a home to call his own. Story
Traka is a 1-2 year old 40lbs spayed border collie who is great with other dogs and people! She came to us with a broken leg, but her leg is  healed and she’s ready to go. This girl is HIGH DRIVE! She’s very busy and needs someone who understands the breed and will provide her with an outlet. She has high prey drive, so please no cats, and she wants to bark at and chase livestock, and anything, anyone that moves lol. No aggression, just barky/frustrated. She LOVES toys and loves to play, and plays well with other dogs too! But she has finally learned how to settle down in a crate too and is great in the car. She is a beautiful and really fun dog, but needs someone who understands the breed and will work with her. She’s been to a herding lesson in Wilton (near Sac) and definitely has the drive for herding work, just needs rules and fine tuning with someone who knows what they’re doing (or willing to learn with lessons).  Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc December 18, 2024, 1:03 pm

Story
Everyone meet Merle, a 2 year male old border collie mix. Merle is a super sweet and loving border collie mix who loves his people. Merle needs room to run and would be best suited for a home with a big yard. Merle came to us as a medical dog with a big gash on the side of neck. He is all healed up and took the injury in stride. Merle loves to play with other dogs but much prefers people but would love a dog brother or sister The following must-have's for Merle -big fenced yard -patience for a young dog mind -time -herding dog experience -active -home often Bonus: another dog to play with No on the following; condos or town homes ex Merle is on the lankier side for a border collie..but still only weighs about 40 lbs or so. He does have young dog energy and does need to learn some manners but it's all good natured. He would also be best suited for someone that can handle a medium/large dog. He is very eager to please and bonds deeply with his people. Loves all people and most dogs he meets! Merle loves car rides, is good on leash, a gentlemen in public and just an all-around good dog. He does have some separation anxiety but once in a routine, it gets much better. Crate training is recommended as he loads up in the crate with ease. Merle is healthy, neutered, chipped and all up-to-date on vaccines If he sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
Snow is a 3 year old border collie mix and has a sweet, silly, and very playful personality! Snow is a super active dog, she loves going to the park, playing fetch with her favorite ball, and gets along well with other dogs ( loves to chase and be chased). When you come home don’t be surprised if she brings you a toy to play! When it’s time to relax and unwind, you can bet Snow will be right by your side. We are looking for a new home for her due to issues with our landlord. We hope that her new home gives her the love, attention, and care she deserves. She’s an absolute love bug at heart, and the sweetest companion that will always be by your side. Snow has gone through a fair amount of training (basic and advanced training at Petco, certifications will be provided) and knows commands such as: sit, wait, down, leave it, heel, shake. We hope her new home gives her as much love as she has to offer! 🩷
