Story
Basil is an intelligent, happy-go-lucky dog who is curious about the world around him. He has bursty stamina and is always happy to go exploring out in the world. He Is super nice and sweet 98% of the time. He excels in consistent environments and will mirror the energy that you put into him. He has an innate sense of bodily autonomy and does not like to be grabbed or restricted, and will firmly tell you no if being physically forced. He is not always cuddly, but he will make it very obvious if he wants it. When he does want it, Basil loves being roughly pet and having his head and belly scratched for hours. Basil is well socialized and had consistent and extensive training using positive reinforcement and clicker training growing up. He has great house manner, super smart, potty trained, crate trained, loves agility, walk on leash nicely and can be offleashed. He enjoys hiking, city walk or just hanging out on the couch.

Story
About the dog: Basil is well socialized and had consistent and extensive training using positive reinforcement and clicker training growing up. He has great house manner, super smart, potty trained, crate trained, loves agility, walk on leash nicely and can be offleashed. He enjoys hiking, city walk or just hanging out on the couch. Good with small animals? yes Good with other dogs? Depends. He used to wanting to play with 99% of the dogs before 1.5yr, but gradually became dog selective. Now he’s still great with other dogs if they are just passing by, but it generally takes him some time(days to weeks or even months) to be familiar with the other dogs to be able to off leash together. Once he accepted the other dogs, he’s actually very forgiving and tolerant. Behavioral issue: Although very rare, Basil can show aggression when under stress or feeling conflicted. My health issues makes it really hard for us to have him, so wanted to rehome him to a more fitted home.

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Bella was rescued from a neglectful home and has shown so much improvement since then. She has lived with kids and a young dog that she single-handedly trained! She then moved to oregon with an older couple but it was not the right fit so she is back in the Bay Area staying with the trainer who taught her all of her commands in the first 3 years of her life. That means that the person(s) who adopt her will get the benefits of having a dog with a lot of training already! Bella is intuitive, caring and wise beyond her years. She will be with you through the good and bad and make you a stronger person for it. Due to her genetics & breed she needs lots of mental & physical exercise in order to thrive. The most ideal match for her would be a person who likes to go on walks or hikes/has a yard; she can be off leash without running away; she will stay by you and make your adventures all the more fun! Most importantly she needs routine and stability and a home that will love her forever.

Story
*** Hi there, I'm your future co-pilot Ryder *** Nice to meet you! Let me introduce myself - I am a handsome black and white Border Collie mix who is about 2 years old and weighs 72 lbs. When you first meet me, you'll notice my soft and luxurious coat (complete with white boots), soulful amber eyes, and first-class smile. My smile has been one of my trademarks here at the shelter (I've been told it's contagious too!) and it's definitely one of the many reasons I'm a volunteer and staff fave. The best part of my day is when I get to be outside with my volunteer pals. I get soooo excited and can show my excitement by jumps and hugs in the kennel. But I know that they are at the controls so I listen well when I'm told to sit, especially with a yummy treat. I walk well on leash and will often pause to check on my volunteer buddy to make sure they're enjoying the walk just as much as I am. I love to cruise the yard, play fetch (I even know to "drop the ball), and show off the many commands I've been coached on. I can "sit, "go down, and "come back, among others. A little treat goes a long way with me. I also like to let my volunteer pal know that they're doing a great job too by giving them a pawshake! I'm quite the love bug and will never turn my nose up to one-on-one cuddles, belly rubs, and back scratches. For this reason, it's probably best I fly solo and go to a home where I can be your one and only! But trust me, I have more than enough love under my wing to share with my new furever family. So, if you're in search for a companion who is equal parts adorable, intelligent, loyal, playful, loving, and sweet- I'm your boy! Whether we're soaking in some sunshine, staying cozy on the couch, or simply keeping one another company, I'm happy to be by your side! So glide on over to our shelter to come meet me in person to see if we'd pawssibly be a good match! Can't wait to shake your hand! Ryder was brought to our shelter on 8/29/24 after being found in Sunol. He hasn't been reclaimed by his previous person, so he's now looking for a new home. Ryder is looking for a home where he won't have to share you with another dog. His adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable). ** Ryder would do best in a home without another dog ** ## See video of Ryder at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Ryder's Shelter ID# is 83272. He is an adult, black and white, Border Collie mix. He currently weighs 72 lbs. He has already been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and is ready to go to his new home! Ryder is located in kennel A-8. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.
