Jackson is one of our parvo survivors from Newman shelter. he is a super sweet dog with a great personality and temperament. Our best breed guest is border collie mix he is currently around 26 pounds . He is very gentle, great with other dogs and he loves playing in water. he is still working on his potty training and uses a doggie door. Very food motivated. He is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Jackson is working on his leash training and his manners and he just started taking walks. Meet 1 year-old handsome Nathan! This sweet 46 pound boy came in as a stray to Oakland animal services were sadly he ran out of time and hope. With Shelter being max capacity and too many dogs a shy dog will just fall between the cracks. This sweet boy locked confidence at the shelter. He was shut down and terrified. Ever since getting into Foster he is now blossoming, happy and we know he has such a great personality. Just waiting to shine. He’s very dog friendly, both big and small and would thrive most in a home as a second dog where he had a companion and a confident leader. he loves to romp and play and is food motivated. He doesn’t appear to have any formal training and he’s only about two years young. Our best guess is that he is a border collie terrier mix is the perfect size and age for someone willing to train, commit to continued socialization and eager to see his success. he has an amazing Foster family who is working on all basic skills daily. If you’re looking for an active walking partner, he could be your buddy. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application using the link below. Loki is a happy boy, playing with friends, running about, and giving hugs! He does better being outdoors in a fenced space, he likes most dogs after an introduction and chooses his playmates, typically other males it seems (that can be situational.) He and an old male Aussie and a young Great Pyr have a love triangle, wrestling, humping and chasing each other, they are super cute and silly, he has a strong bond to his buddies, both two-legged and four!! Loki takes his time to warm up to some, and is particular about handling and restraint, not taking it well from people he doesn't know. Loki has a healthy sense of adventure and not the best recall though when he has a runabout here at the Milo Sanctuary he comes back before long. A country life is definitely in order for him! He can be affectionate and gives great hugs. Loki has had physical and other forms of trauma in his life, Loki came to us with a badly broken tail/spinal injury, he's healed and happy guy given his own freedom of movement. He deserves a chance. A country home with adults. He is fine being a predominantly outdoor dog with a buddy. He does not like a harness. Come meet him at our sanctuary!

Saleen is one of four girls in a five puppy litter. She is a sweet girl who loves to run and play. She is the talker of the litter. Her foster Dad says she spends lots of time ‘revving her engine as a true Saleen would’ because of the fun noises she makes when picked up or playing. She does not mind playing by herself but loves to wrestle with her siblings. She enjoys sniffing around the yard, chewing on toys and laying in the shade. She is working on car rides in the crate and loves to look around when they are out and about in the shopping cart. Saleen is very smart and loves to dig and pull at the turf in the play area. When Saleen has finally tired herself out, she heads right to the bed in the crate. She has yet to find her bark but does enjoy a good growl. She does do some whining and a small howl when she is awake and ready to get up to pee. Saleen is working on potty training outside only and alerting at the door. However, she does use a pee pad when she does not alert. Crate training to be in the crate by herself is the next progression she will be working on. Saleen does sleep in the crate overnight with her siblings currently. The foster family is also working on leash training so that it will hopefully be an easy transition in her fur-ever home. She is very gentle and becoming more and more interested in being picked up and loved on by her foster family which includes a 3 year old. She is very patient with the 3 year old and likes to follow her around. She is not phased by the 3 month old baby when she is crying or making noises. She is semi curious of the foster families 13 year old small dog but is submissive to her when she thinks to encounter her. Saleen will do best with a family that is active and can spend lots of time working with her. She loves to be outside and exploring. She would love to have as many working jobs as possible.
