Story
Border Collie femaleWelcome Derby from Tulare County Animal Services. Another world class, compact border collie found as a stray but now on to bigger and better. Derby is a 2 year old, 30lb, female border collie. She is insta-glue! Very sweet and social with people and great with other dogs. Unfortunately, no cats - we learned quickly that her instinct to chase was alive and well out the gate. She was quick to get on a routine - sleeping through the night in a crate, going potty where she’s supposed to, and snuggling as we watch the sunrise and drink our morning tea. Have we mentioned adult dogs are the best? She LOVES chew bones & toys and seems to be very appreciative to be indoors and have a dedicated person to follow around. She’s so biddable and snaps to attention when you call her over or give an “uh-uh” or “shht” if she’s doing something she’s not supposed to. Derby is going to make an amazing companion for a border collie lover! Derby is located in Arroyo Grande, CA. Microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. Story
Border Collie, femaleEmber is a 4 year old, 27lb Border Collie/Cattle dog mix. Her story begins in heartbreak — and hope. After her owner unexpectedly passed away, Ember was left alone outside during cold, stormy weather. In her time of need, firefighters at the neighboring station stepped in, offering food, comfort, and kindness until help arrived. Ember is safe in foster care, thanks to some Good Samaritans who saw a plea for help on Nextdoor and stepped up. She is settling in, and showing everyone just how special she is. She’s gentle, soulful, and incredibly grateful for every bit of love she receives. After everything she’s endured, Ember is searching for a home where she can feel safe, cherished, and never left behind again. She is spayed and UTD on vaccines and located in Stockton, CA. Story
Border Collie maleWe thought he was a done deal! But Tarzans foster decided he is not a fit for this household. She is happy to hold him while we work on this. Tarzan is 3 years old, and trusted in the house unsupervised. He's fantastic with the family and coexists with a couple other hounds, who would rather Tarzan stay a guest! Tarzan went in to foster care very sweet, and loving with everyone the humans and their other dogs loved him! As Tarzan got comfortable, he started claiming the adult human female in their house. He wants her all to his own self. He is good with other dogs, if you have friends with dogs or take him around other dogs. He would just be a perfect only dog. A lot of times we need a dog to be in a home with dogs. So here a good opportunity for a one dog gig! The foster is recommending a no cat home as well. But he's great with kids and all people. Tarzan is in Orange, Ca. More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1622189228742725&type=3 Interested in Tarzan? Story
She showed up on my front lawn about 5 months ago. We posted on the lost pet pages, but no one has claimed her. She didn't have an microchip but does now. We are fostering her, and we would like to find her a home. We already have 4 dogs and can't keep her. Here's what we know about her: ~ border collie mix. ~ about a year old. ~ had her first round of shots. ~ has been spayed. ~ likes playing with my dogs. ~ likes to cuddle. ~ enjoys going on walks. When she arrived, she took a few days to warm up to us. She was skinny and hungry. If you want to adopt her, please understand that it will take a few days to earn her trust. I only bring it up because I want to set expectations before the first introduction. If someone interested in this sweet girl, please reach out. I'm happy to answer any questions.

Story
This pet is part of the rehoming program and is not in the care of the CCSPCA. Please read carefully and reach out to the owner directly via cell: 925-809-5537 or email:victoriajett20@gmail.com. The owner states, “ I am a new mom who’s been uprooted from an alcoholic relationship. I have to stay with family for awhile and restart life. My dog is about 11 years old. He’s a border collie mix. He can be hyper but he also loves to lay around. He’s never bitten anyone or any dog. He will surrender if another dog comes at him. He loves squeaky toys. He doesn’t play with other dogs but doesn’t mind having them around. He’s vocal, he growls when he’s playing and happy. But he is absolutely not mean. He does a happy dance when it’s dinner time. He knows a lot of tricks. He’s very smart and listens well. Our home is mostly quiet. Other dogs on the other side of the fence and he doesn’t care. He’s a people lover. ” Due to the pet not being in our care, it is out of our control when and if the owner responds to your inquiry. Thank you.
