Story
Border Collie mix male puppySpot is still looking for his forever home. This young border collie is very sweet and energetic (but not BC psychotic like many). Here are all the things Spot’s fosters love about him and you will too: He wags not only his tail, but his ENTIRE BODY when you enter the room (even if you've only been gone for 2 min). Takes treats out of your hand extremely gently Sleeps quietly through the whole night Recalls very well with a whistle or calling his name (see video) Responds very well to simple behavior correction Zero resource guarding Follows cues from resident dog very very well House broken Plays really well with other dogs, or his pile of toys. Loves pets, belly rubs, and all forms of attention. Hesitant at first, but he learns very quickly to enjoy new experiences. Has never shown any signs of fear-based agression or reactivity.   Spot is located in Templeton, CA. He is 10 months old. Microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines.   More photos, video, and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1276790179949300&type=3   Interested in Spot, please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppDecember 15, 2024, 7:01 pm

Story
Border Collie mix, male puppyMeet Spark, the bigger and slightly more dominant of the young border collie brothers. Although he bosses his brother a bit, he is still as sweet as can be, social with other dogs big and small. Good with men, women and kids. Good with horses, pigs and goats. Spark is a 7 month old BC looking for a breed savvy home with someone wanting an awesome adventure partner. He walks well on lead and comes when called. He is neutered, microchipped and UTD on shots. Located in Wilton, CA (near Sacramento).   More photos, video, and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1276790179949300&type=3   Interested in Spark, please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 7, 2024, 3:10 pm

Story
Border Collie mix, male puppyIf there’s one word to describe PJ it’s FUN! Unfortunately, his backstory isn’t quite as entertaining. Despite, he’s a great boy and that’s why we’ve chosen to make him a CCHDR dog. We received an email from Studio City Animal Hospital about a 6 month old ACD / BC mix at their facility. PJ was put into boarding but after 10 days his people could no longer pay and have decided they want to rehome the young boy. Something about being “too energetic” and exhibiting “herding tendencies.” The staff have taken a liking to PJ and are doing everything they can to find him a breed savvy home. They even get him out on hikes when time allows because they understand herders don’t do well in confinement. PJ is located in Studio City, CA. He is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.   More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1300374034257581&type=3   Interested in PJ?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 16, 2024, 6:34 pm

Story
Border Collie mix, female 7 years oldChyna is a combination of some of the best breeds out there and she is just regal. Beautiful black with her white chest and feet to belie some Border Collie. Her narrow muzzle and big ears scream Malinois! But she's on the smaller side, almost Kelpie looking.   You might want to meet Chyna! She's really something!  Black Malinois/Border Collie/Shepard. Chyna has all the right stuff!  We think she’s around 7 years old, but she may be younger.  Regardless, she’s a full adult dog.    Chyna is in need of a new adoptive home.  It's a shame when a dog isn't started out right in a home. her new family adored her! A little too much. Chyna became the protector of Mom in the home, and compadres with Dad. But she looked at their older teenage son as the help or something... their relationship went south. Even though this boy would have loved nothing more than to be in her orbit. It needed to start out this way. Chyna got too much too soon and it afforded her the opportunity to pick and choose her people. Every human in the home, needs to be a pack leader of the canines in the home. We thought we had found the perfect home for Chyna, so happy for her! And now, we're sorta back to square one.  There is no reason Chyna should be in recue! She's great with other dogs and loved everyone she met, including her new boy.  We're looking for strong leader owners.   More photos, updates, and video:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1010537383241249&type=3   Interested in Chyna?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App    November 26, 2024, 7:44 pm

Story
Bruce Lee was born on January 9th, 2021 from his mother, a Border Collie and father, a Cattle Dog. I got him as a puppy from the farm he was born on in Lubbock, Texas. He was raised for the first two years of his life on three acres in South Texas and was able to run around and play all day with the local neighborhood dogs which helped greatly with his natural energy level. He has always been an inside dog and house trained from day one. He is going on 5 years old this January and just over 60 lbs. He is very energetic as you could imagine but is also a good listener and will match your energy if you are laying low. For his new owner, I am looking for someone who loves high energy dogs and is active so Bruce has someone to play with. He loves other dogs so adding him to a family with a dog already would be great for him.
