Story
Any large breed/working dog lovers here?! Lucky needs a forever home! Rancho Cordova, CA Please help us welcome Lucky! Lucky may not be like our usual GLAR recruits (as in tiny, and often of the chihuahua variety ) but we are so glad to help her just the same. One of our fantastic volunteers has been fostering her alone without the help of a rescue, and needs more help making sure Lucky is seen! Lucky is 7 months old, weighs approximately 30lbs, and has all the zest for life (think Buddy the Elf ). She is some sort of Border Collie mix and is beautiful! She has all the puppy energy and needs a job. (As a result, we will only consider applicants who have experience with working breeds, and those who can provide a plan to help ensure Lucky’s needs will be met.) Lucky is fully vaccinated and will be microchipped and spayed prior to adoption. She is anxiously awaiting her forever person to form that special bond. She’s a special girl that needs a very special adopter. Can you help us share Lucky? We could really use the help networking. Or, if you see her sweet face and know it’s love at first sight, apply to adopt Lucky here: https://www.gunterslegacy.org/adopt ##1817406##

Story
Here is some information to help find the perfect Furever Home for Buck: Age: ~13/14 months (as of 9/15/24) Weight: 30-35 lbs DNA Results: 46% Border Collie (energy) 25% Cattle Dog (herding instinct) 8% Chihuahua (small dog,not likely to grow anymore) 7% Australian Shepherd Buck is: 1) Kennel trained: sleeps in a kennel. Has slept outside of a kennel, on a dog bed, when other dogs are around. 2) House trained: and knows how to use a doggie door 3) Leash trained/martingale collar: he's still learning but has steadily improved to 80% leash trained. 4) Knows basic commands: wait, sit, down, get the ball, drop the ball, stay. 5) Great in the car (with his harness and seat belt clip) 6) Perfect for an Adult only home; no small/young kids. He would be truly happy with a single adult or couple who like to run. Buck has a strong herding instinct. He needs a job. He would be so happy on a farm, ranch setting where he could run all day--Ontario, Temecula, Murrietta areas? He really enjoys the company of other dogs (No info on cats). He's been with both small and huge dogs. He is very happy with 1 or more dogs in the home, which also gives him a lot of activity. He loves walks and ball & frisbee play. He would be perfect for an adult who'd enjoy an agility dog, for competition: He is very smart and figures puzzle games and ball games out quickly. He runs and jumps in the air for balls, frisbees. ================================================= Do NOT call to ask if this puppy is available for adoption. If this listing is still posted then we are still accepting applications. Please read the narrative in its entirety. Please note our adoption procedures are explained in GREAT DETAIL BELOW. READ, READ, READ. Thank You. . . . . The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment at Petsmart in Yorba Linda on Saturday between noon and 3 pm or on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog, please visit our website to complete an adoption application. It is in the ADOPTION folder at the top of our home page. Just fill in the blanks and SEND. The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/

Story
Brewski’s previous owner was hospitalized and could no longer care for this sweet guy so AALOC took him in. This young Border Collie mix is very playful and loving and gets along great with other dogs. Brewski is a medium-size dog, weighing in at about 45 pounds. According to the American Kennel Club the Border Collie are amazing dogs. They are particularly energetic, athletic, and playful and are known for being workaholics. Although a Border Collie will enjoy cuddle time, it is only after they have spent their energy with walks, play and training. In the canine world, Border Collies are among the most agile, balanced, and durable breeds. They are usually very good at agility training and giving a Border Collie a job is important to their happiness. Border Collies are also known for their intense ‘herding eye’ gaze and their almond-shaped eyes. Please apply to adopt Brewski at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Brewski and get to know him a bit. Donation of $165 for dog adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit (in Orange County, CA). For more information on adoption policies visit our dog adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org or by phone (714) 893-4393.

Story
We’re heartbroken to rehome our sweet 8 months old Border Collie. He has an incredible amount of energy that we simply don’t have the time and space in our home to manage. He barks when he sees people or dogs but is super friendly once he’s up close. We’ve worked with a couple of trainers, but unfortunately, we don’t have the time or resources to continue. He needs a new home with someone experienced in working with high-energy dogs, ideally someone familiar with behavioral challenges. Aside from his outdoor behavior, he’s the sweetest, most affectionate dog indoors. He learns commands quickly, is crate trained, and uses a pee pad (holder inc). He’s super smart, playful, and full of love. He just needs a large yard and a dedicated owner who can help him burn off his energy, address his barking behavior issue, and give him the life he deserves. If you’re experienced and ready to give him the time he needs, please reach out. Adoption fee can be reduced if you are the perfect fit for him.

Story
We are seeking a new home for our good boy, a mix of Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) and Foxhound, born in May 2023. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations, though he will need another round of rabies and annual vaccinations. He’s a playful, energetic boy who loves walks and playing fetch. He’s not fond of being ran or having his nails trimmed. He has a big personality and doesn’t quite realize his size, which can make him a bit clumsy around younger kids. He tends to pay more attention to our 6-year-old (who loves rough housing with him) He can be a great companion with some guidance. He is trainable and responds well to treats, but he does need some basic training to channel his excitement. He is a very smart boy. After his walks he chills out. Unfortunately, our current environment isn't the right fit for him. To be honest, he was brought home and i have been looking to rehome him ever since. We love him very much, but this isnt the place for him. He deserves a loving h
