Story
Max is a 13, purebred classic border collie from working lines. He's neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. Max has a bit of a hitch in the giddyup but he still has plenty of get up & go, eager to go for a walk or whatever you are doing. He has some issues with rain/wind/storms and tends to hide, otherwise he is head-on-your knee loving attention! Max gets along with other dogs, kids & cats, but he will need some TLC in his senior years.

Story
Mia is an 11-1/2 year old, purebred border collie. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and weighs in a bit heavy right now, but she's working on it. Mia settled right into her foster home as if she'd been there for years. She is housetrained & used the dog door immediately. She is good on the leash, comes when she is called and knows the basic commands. She will give a warning over her food bowl or chew bone, but so far nothing more. She gets along with other dogs, cats, kids, loves belly rubs and attention. Mia will be a great companion for an active senior.

Story
Border Collie mix, male puppyIf there’s one word to describe PJ it’s FUN! Unfortunately, his backstory isn’t quite as entertaining. Despite, he’s a great boy and that’s why we’ve chosen to make him a CCHDR dog. We received an email from Studio City Animal Hospital about a 6 month old ACD / BC mix at their facility. PJ was put into boarding but after 10 days his people could no longer pay and have decided they want to rehome the young boy. Something about being “too energetic” and exhibiting “herding tendencies.” The staff have taken a liking to PJ and are doing everything they can to find him a breed savvy home. They even get him out on hikes when time allows because they understand herders don’t do well in confinement. PJ is located in Studio City, CA. He is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.   More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1300374034257581&type=3   Interested in PJ?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 16, 2024, 6:34 pm

Story
Border Collie mix, female 7 years oldWe thought we had found the perfect home for Chyna, and so happy for her! And now, we're sorta back to square one.  There is no reason Chyna should be in recue! She's great with other dogs and loves everyone she meets.  We're just looking for leader owners! Chyna is a combination of some of the best breeds out there and she is just regal. Beautiful black with her white chest and feet to belie some Border Collie. Her narrow muzzle and big ears scream Malinois! But she's on the smaller side, almost Kelpie looking.   You might want to meet Chyna! She's really something!  Black Malinois/Border Collie/Shepard. Chyna has all the right stuff!  We think she’s around 7 years old, but she may be younger.  Regardless, she’s a fully adult dog. We got Chyna from the Palmdale Shelter, she had been left by her owners on their way out of town, moving... She lives with us at the rescue in a huge enclosure, and sleeps in a straw filled dog-loo. She has free range of the property as long as I am home. She's never more than a soft call of her name away. Chyna is very obedient and has great recall, she also comes to a coaches whistle. She'll walk on a leash, but we don't do that often. Chyna was adopted for a few months. It's a shame when a dog isn't started out right in a home. her new family adored her! Too much. Chyna saw an opportunity. Became the protector of Mom in the home, and buddies with Dad. But she looked at their older teenage son as the help or someone beneath her... that never works out well... their relationship went south. Even though this young man would have loved nothing more than to be in her orbit. It needed to start out that way. Chyna was ranked up high in the pack much too soon, affording her the opportunity to pick and choose her people. Every human in the home, needs to be a pack leader of the canines in the home. Story
Border Collie mix, male 2 years oldChip was wandering the streets of Central Fresno, when he followed his foster family home from a walk. Chip is a fun-loving, energetic 2-year-old Border Collie mix who’s ready to find his forever home. With a brain as sharp as his agility, he is as smart as they come, and he’s eager to please! Whether you’re tossing a ball, teaching him commands, or going on an adventure, Chip will be right there, ready to impress with his enthusiasm. This handsome boy is not only a goofball with tons of energy, but he’s also friendly, affectionate, and social. He gets along great with people and children, but might need a little time to acclimate to new dogs or cats. Chip would do best in a home where he can get lots of exercise and mental stimulation—he's the perfect fit for an active family, a couple who enjoys outdoor activities, or someone who has the time to keep up with his playful nature. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to start his next adventure with you. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, and smart companion, Chip might just be your perfect match!' Chip is in Fresno. Story
Border Collie, female 1 year oldWelcome Chessy! No brainer, one year old, 40lb border collie, sweet as can be found herself impounded at City of Tulare Animal Shelter. Our friends down at the shelter told us what a sweetheart she was and the rest was history. Here’s what we know: perfect citizen in the house crate trained people social, loyal, loving, obedient pack dog, loves the company of other K9s stellar heel on leash intelligent, responsive, knows her basics has an off switch; knows how to chill rides well in the car plays fetch chicken tested and approved (off leash) Interaction with cats and other livestock are unknown at this time but given her neutrality around chickens indicates she’d probably be great around other animals too. As for kids, she is incredibly sweet and gentle with her 7 year old, dog-savvy human foster sibling. Chessy (40lbs) is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. She is located in Arroyo Grande.   Border Collie people, don’t miss your chance on this super special gal. We are hoping Chessy lands a home with another balanced dog or two. She would absolutely thrive in a pack.   More photos, video, and updates: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1364189481209369&type=3   Interested in Chessy?  Please complete an application at:  https://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppFebruary 12, 2025, 3:15 pm
