Story
Hi there! My name is Skye and I'm at the Santa Maria Campus. I'm a 3 year and 5 month old, female, Border Collie mix who came to SB Humane in search of a new caring home. I'm a very sweet girl who really enjoys walks, and playing in the yard. With some yummy treats and gentle baby talk, I am easily won over. I enjoy rolling over to show you my belly, so you can get my favorite scratch spots. My goofy smile I get when I am at my happiest is infectious. I get along well with most other dogs, and I get better at meeting new human faces everyday. Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777. When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Our adoption fees help support our community programs and the next animal who needs our help!

Story
Max is a 13, purebred classic border collie from working lines. He's neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. Max has a bit of a hitch in the giddyup but he still has plenty of get up & go, eager to go for a walk or whatever you are doing. He has some issues with rain/wind/storms and tends to hide, otherwise he is head-on-your knee loving attention! Max gets along with other dogs, kids & cats, but he will need some TLC in his senior years.

Story
Mia is an 11-1/2 year old, purebred border collie. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and weighs in a bit heavy right now, but she's working on it. Mia settled right into her foster home as if she'd been there for years. She is housetrained & used the dog door immediately. She is good on the leash, comes when she is called and knows the basic commands. She will give a warning over her food bowl or chew bone, but so far nothing more. She gets along with other dogs, cats, kids, loves belly rubs and attention. Mia will be a great companion for an active senior.

Story
Border Collie mix, male puppyIf there’s one word to describe PJ it’s FUN! Unfortunately, his backstory isn’t quite as entertaining. Despite, he’s a great boy and that’s why we’ve chosen to make him a CCHDR dog. We received an email from Studio City Animal Hospital about a 6 month old ACD / BC mix at their facility. PJ was put into boarding but after 10 days his people could no longer pay and have decided they want to rehome the young boy. Something about being “too energetic” and exhibiting “herding tendencies.” The staff have taken a liking to PJ and are doing everything they can to find him a breed savvy home. They even get him out on hikes when time allows because they understand herders don’t do well in confinement. PJ is located in Studio City, CA. He is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.   More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1300374034257581&type=3   Interested in PJ?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 16, 2024, 6:34 pm

Story
Border Collie mix, female 7 years oldChyna is a combination of some of the best breeds out there and she is just regal. Beautiful black with her white chest and feet to belie some Border Collie. Her narrow muzzle and big ears scream Malinois! But she's on the smaller side, almost Kelpie looking.   You might want to meet Chyna! She's really something!  Black Malinois/Border Collie/Shepard. Chyna has all the right stuff!  We think she’s around 7 years old, but she may be younger.  Regardless, she’s a full adult dog.    Chyna is in need of a new adoptive home.  It's a shame when a dog isn't started out right in a home. her new family adored her! A little too much. Chyna became the protector of Mom in the home, and compadres with Dad. But she looked at their older teenage son as the help or something... their relationship went south. Even though this boy would have loved nothing more than to be in her orbit. It needed to start out this way. Chyna got too much too soon and it afforded her the opportunity to pick and choose her people. Every human in the home, needs to be a pack leader of the canines in the home. We thought we had found the perfect home for Chyna, so happy for her! And now, we're sorta back to square one.  There is no reason Chyna should be in recue! She's great with other dogs and loved everyone she met, including her new boy.  We're looking for strong leader owners.   More photos, updates, and video:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1010537383241249&type=3   Interested in Chyna?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App    November 26, 2024, 7:44 pm
