Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:4Chaplin is a 1.5-year-old Border Collie/Retriever mix with all the charm of a Hollywood star! This handsome pup is looking for a patient, loving home where he can continue to grow in confidence and show off his playful, affectionate side. Chaplin’s Star Qualities: Playgroup Regular – Enjoys socializing with well-matched dog friends and learning the ropes of doggy etiquette. Easygoing & Affectionate – Volunteers report that he’s a breeze to leash, walk, and handle. Gentle & Thoughtful – Prefers a slow, structured introduction to new dogs but enjoys friendly interactions. Great Walking Buddy – No leash reactivity, making him an easy and enjoyable walking partner. Ready to Thrive – Currently underweight, but with a little TLC, he’ll fill out beautifully in a loving home. Chaplin would do best with an adopter who can help him build confidence, understand his social cues, and provide structure as he settles in. He may enjoy the company of well-matched dogs or thrive as a solo pup with social dog friends. Are you ready to give Chaplin the starring role in your life? Come meet him today!         View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Walnut (@walnut.wanders)  March 7, 2025, 5:26 pm

Sweet Hua Juan is looking for her forever home still! She might be a border collie mix! Love her color and spots on her coat! She's opened up a lot compared to when she first arrived in the states beginning of this year. She weights about 20lbs. Walks fairly well on leash although noises on the street still scares her a bit. She does well with dogs of all sizes! She does well with ppl and kids.

Story
Griffon, a lively 1-year-old Border Collie mix, is searching for his forever home! He`s a loving and playful dog who adores giving kisses. He`s also a smart cookie with a lot of potential, but he needs a dedicated owner to help him navigate some challenges. Griffon can become frustrated on leash and needs training to address his mouthy behavior. He also displays some food and resource guarding. He plays well and trades toys, and with the right guidance, he will make a fantastic companion. He would be best suited for a home with older children and an owner experienced with working through resource guarding and leash reactivity.

Story
Meet 1 year-old handsome Nathan! This sweet 46 pound boy came in as a stray to Oakland animal services were sadly he ran out of time and hope. With Shelter being max capacity and too many dogs a shy dog will just fall between the cracks. This sweet boy locked confidence at the shelter. He was shut down and terrified. Ever since getting into Foster he is now blossoming, happy and we know he has such a great personality. Just waiting to shine. He’s very dog friendly, both big and small and would thrive most in a home as a second dog where he had a companion and a confident leader. he loves to romp and play and is food motivated. He doesn’t appear to have any formal training and he’s only about two years young. Our best guess is that he is a border collie terrier mix is the perfect size and age for someone willing to train, commit to continued socialization and eager to see his success. he has an amazing Foster family who is working on all basic skills daily. If you’re looking for an active walking partner, he could be your buddy. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application using the link below.
