Story
Hi there! I’m Hani, an 8-month-old female Border Collie, weighing a petite 22 lbs. Born to Border Collie parents in the neighborhood, I had a rough start in life, but I was rescued from neglect and have been living with humans since I was 2 months old. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home! As a Border Collie, I’m energetic, playful, and incredibly smart. I’m still a puppy, so I sometimes get carried away with zoomies or enjoy chewing on things for fun (puppy proofing is a must!). But more than anything, I crave love and attention from people. I adore being around my humans and express my affection with endless cuddles and tail wags. I’d do best in a home with a yard or access to a park where I can burn off my energy through play and exercise. Once I’ve had my fun, I settle down and enjoy quiet time indoors. I’m currently learning basic commands like “sit” and “wait,” and I pick things up quickly because I’m super smart! With consistent training, I’ll grow into a well-behaved and exceptional companion. I’m also great with other dogs—big or small. I get along wonderfully with my doggy friends and have a laid-back personality when it comes to sharing resources like toys and food. Speaking of food, I’ve got a healthy appetite, so mealtime is one of my favourite parts of the day! On walks, I’m still getting used to the big, wide world and can be slightly cautious in new environments. I’m not scared of cars or loud noises, but I’d recommend using a double leash while I’m still learning. I’m looking for a loving home where I can continue to thrive with lots of play, training, and cuddles. I’m a sweet and intelligent pup, full of potential to become your perfect lifelong companion. Are you ready to give me the forever family I deserve? Let’s meet soon—I can’t wait to shower you with love! Story
Meet Hwani, a lively 4-year-old Border Collie with a striking black-and-white coat, weighing 19kg. Rescued from a euthanasia, Hwani is now looking for a loving home where he can thrive. Hwani is a social charmer who adores people, whether they’re familiar faces or total strangers. He’s quick to approach, snuggle up, and enjoy being petted by men and women alike. Although he hasn’t met children under 13, his sweet, approachable nature hints that he’d do well. He’s even comfortable being gently lifted by placing your arms under his belly. When it comes to canine friends, Hwani is equally friendly. He happily greets dogs of all sizes and invites them to play. Even if another dog gets a little too rowdy, Hwani is quick to avoid conflict and keep things peaceful. During walks, he may curiously glance at cats or other small animals, but with a bit of guidance, he refocuses easily. With a moderate energy level, Hwani loves outdoor adventures but also enjoys lounging at home. On walks, his excitement might get the better of him at first, as he’s been used to running alongside his previous owner. If restrained, he may express his feelings with a soft whimper, playful leash nibbling, or a quick scratch, but he quickly adapts and follows his handler’s lead.  Hwani is incredibly easygoing when it comes to food and toys, showing no guarding behaviour toward people or other dogs. He does bark when confined but is otherwise well-mannered. This clever boy is a pro at car rides—he can hop in and out on his own and is so curious he might even try to board any car that looks interesting! Fully house-trained, Hwani exclusively takes care of business outdoors. Hwani is a cheerful, affectionate, and playful companion who would thrive in a home that enjoys both outdoor adventures and cozy downtime. If you’re ready for a loyal and fun-loving friend, Hwani might just be your perfect match! He can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers. Story
Bodie is a spirited and exuberant dog, always eager to play and explore. His enthusiasm is contagious, he approaches each day with a wagging tail and some barking. However, his strong personality means that he can be a bit dog reactive, making him a better fit for experienced dog owners who understand the needs of a Border Collie and can provide him with the proper training and socialization. As Bodie is a Border Collie, he is naturally incredibly agile and athletic. He loves to run, jump, catch frisbees and engage in any other activity that challenges his mind and body. He is a very quick learner, and he thrives on mental stimulation. He will need to be kept busy with puzzle toys and interactive games to keep him happy. While Bodie’s energy and intelligence make him a wonderful companion, his dog reactivity may be challenging. He is not suitable for households with children or with inexperienced dog owners who would struggle to manage his strong-willed nature. He will need to be the only pet in the household as he displays resource guarding towards other dogs. With the right guidance and consistent training, Bodie can learn to navigate his surroundings with more confidence. Bodie's vibrant spirit and zest for life remind those around him to embrace every moment with enthusiasm! With the right owner who can provide structure and love, Bodie has the potential to be an incredible companion. He is more than ready to leave shelter life behind and wants to embark on some new adventures! Please be aware that Bodie is available only to a breed knowledgeable and experienced home, or for a herding specific rescue to pull him from the shelter.
