Story
Pimento At just 11 months old, Pimento is ripe for adventure! 🚨🐕Though this pup is all about loyalty and love, he's got a spicy side when it comes to cats. 🐈❌ But with humans and their inner circle, Pimento is a big ol' cuddle bug, soaking up attention.Pimento has displayed some signs of prey drive and would also not do well in a home with small children. He can also be nervous of people when he is on his walks but he warms up quickly with a slow introduction. Fear Free training on walks will go a long way in improving this behaviour. If you need a trusty sidekick who will love you fiercely, Pimento is here to keep your heart warm and your home safe. Ready to scoop up this sweetheart? Just remember: no cats allowed! 🐾Please submit an application online if you are interested in our sweet Pimento and we will arrange a Meet & Greet! Story
Hi there. My name is ORIO (Oreo) and here is a bit of info about me:Breed: Border Collie / Labrador mixAge: 3-1/2 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 38 lbsHeight: tbd Highlights: calm, cuddler, loyal, clever Left in the freezing cold in Lebanon to fend for themselves at a young age, I was found on the streets roaming around and looking for food in the garbage. Me and my best friend Ollio were constantly harassed by passerbys. We were threatened with being shot, if not removed. Thankfully, a rescuer came through for us. I was pregnant when found and since had 4 adorable puppies (they will be up for adoption later.) I was transferred to a boarding shelter until a home was found.  I certainly enjoy snuggling, a real cuddle bug they call me.My foster says I am great in the house, calm outside and don't bark a lot. I enjoy the great outdoors. So much so, that it would be best to go to a home with some decent sized property for me to run around."Very sweet & very loving" is how my foster describes me. My foster has worked with me to get me to stop pulling on a leash. Now, I'm a pro walker. I am also great in the house.I have no aggressions at all and will wait to eat til told ok. I get along fine with other dogs. Not sure cats would be a good match nor chickens, as at times I have dug holes to try to escape from the acreage to get to the chickens next door... chicken al fresco. So, best without the temptation around. You will not find any behavioral issues with me (other than chickens), so should be fine with older kids. You'll see I am bright-eyed and happy. Very loyal and clever too. Bet you could teach me tricks.I really need to find a home with my buddy, Olivia (also posted), as we are quite bonded with one another. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats:  noKids: no Prey drive: fairly high. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: none observed. Training: house and leashLeash skills: yes Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated & microchipped. The adoption fee for me and my buddy Olivia together is a whopper deal at $800. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1374363##

Story
Hello there, my name is Maxwell. Sounds distinguished, doesn't it? Here are some facts about me:Breed: Border Collie/Lab mixAge: 3 years oldGender: maleWeight: 50 lbsHighlights: rather laid back, enthusiastic, playful, cuddly Skills: I am housetrained but I don't get much practice walking on a leash as I currently live on a farm where I have a lot of space to run around. I have a moderate energy level. I'm actually a fairly laid back kind of guy - I love to run and play outside and then come inside for a nice cuddle. I LOVE car rides and I love my food. This can make me responsive to treat rewards for learning new stuff but it also means that I like dining on my own so I can make sure that I don't miss out on any of my delicious food. Don't get me wrong, I do like to have other dogs to play with but perhaps not little dogs. For whatever reason, I'm wary of them but I love hanging out with dogs my own size or bigger. Please, I don't socialize with the feline types and I am a bit too rambunctious to make me a good companion for kids. My foster says I'm a great sleeper and then, when I wake up, I'm eager to get my day going. I would really love a big fenced yard and some loving humans to adopt me and then we can go on a whole bunch of exciting car trips. Would you like to join me! Health: I have been immunized, microchipped, and neutered. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Story
My name is NODDY and here is a little info about me:Breed: Border Collie/hound mixAge: 3 yrsGender: maleWeight: 46 lbsHeight: 20 inchesHighlight(s): affectionate, loyal, calm, funny, playful, loving, confident Known as an Indie dog, I look very much like a NZ Huntaway sheepdog. Who knows if there is actually any of that in me, but neat anyway, don't you think? I am a loving boy, whose tail never stops wagging. My rescuer found me in a dire situation. I was living on the streets and become a victim of human cruelty. A drunk man had chained me and I was being dragged and beaten up with a stick. https://youtube.com/shorts/81PYRImrcpc. I was bleeding from my mouth and had scratch wounds all over my body. When my rescuer saw what was happening, she intervened immediately. Even though I was in bad shape, I still wagged my tail at her. She shifted me to a boarding home and there I have been living since. You see in my country of India, us mixed breeds are not treated well. I have not had even one lead for an adoption.I am also a Distemper survivor. I had it at 8 month old, but am completely well now.Given my penchant for affection, I am good with dogs of all sizes, as well as kids. Sorry, haven't had intro to cats yet. And just look at how excellent I am with the vet: https://youtube.com/shorts/P-uf4VaxC4I. You'll find me playful, but also a big cuddle buddy. I'm calm, confident, & loyal. You'll see I have a funny, amusing side to me, as well. So, I should keep you amused. See how silly I am here scratching my back on the bricks:  https://youtu.be/9HanyGs5RH0. Hoping we can have some adventures together, but also do some big time snuggling. Yah, pink bows on a boy dog, I know... but a boy can be Noddy, Naughty, Not he, once in a while can't he? Hahaa. The rescuer thought I was cute in them though. I think a moderate to semi-moderate lifestyle of activity would suit me well. Always up for a sniffathon walk, but just as happy to hangout on the couch getting ear scratches. Mmmm, streeeetching out, just thinking about my future: https://youtube.com/shorts/P-uf4VaxC4I. I'm awaiting your call. Aren't I wonderfully loyal? https://youtube.com/shorts/kaTob_NyRwc. Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Bada🩵 (It means sea in Korean) In late June 2022, Bada arrived at the shelter with a fractured front leg. In the sweltering heat, flies swarmed around his bandaged wound, which had become infected. After being rescued, it was discovered that his bone had healed improperly, requiring corrective surgery. Now fully recovered, Bada is healthy and energetic, leaping and running with joy. 😊 With People: Bada loves people and quickly warms up to them. While he may need a little time to get comfortable initially, he soon becomes playful, even jumping excitedly to greet you. Treats help speed up the bonding process! He enjoys being petted and eagerly stands on his hind legs to welcome familiar faces. However, when he’s overly excited, he may run off playfully when approached for pets. With Dogs: Bada enjoys the company of other dogs and plays well with those who match his energy. However, his excitement level can be high during play, and disagreements may arise if his playmates aren’t receptive. He would do best with a similarly energetic dog or as the only dog in the home. Separation Anxiety: Currently unknown, as he resides in the shelter. Potty Training: Fully trained for outdoor pottying. Grooming and Hygiene: He is initially wary of brushing but tolerates it well with gentle handling. He allows ear cleaning without fuss and doesn’t engage in destructive behaviors. While he isn’t a fan of nail trims, he cooperates one paw at a time. Walking and Outdoor Behavior: Bada loves walks! While he doesn’t pull excessively on the leash, his large size means he exerts natural strength when moving. Car Sickness: Rides comfortably in the car without any signs of motion sickness. 💌Special Notes💌 Training: Bada has mastered the commands “sit” and “shake.” Play Habits: He loves playing fetch and is great at bringing the ball back for more!

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Rown🖤🤍 *Toward people: Loves people very very much! Although he experienced lots of accidents and has tragic memories about his past, he is a human-loving dog who shows lots and lots of love and affection! *Toward dogs: Is an energetic dog who loves playing with dog friends. Small dogs may be afraid of him sometimes due to his upbeat personality, but he can become a gentle dog by training him to control his excitement! *Separation anxiety: Unknown as he is staying at the center. *Potty training: Only outdoor potties at the center. *Hygiene: Has not experienced proper hygiene care yet as he is recovering/ getting treatments after his surgery, but he took hygiene-related care very well before surgery! ☺️ *Walking: Enjoys walking, but needs training as he may get hyper-excited. *Car-sickness: Rides cars very well without carsickness! 🖤Rescue Story🤍 Rown was rescued from the streets. He urgently needed surgery as he ate stones and screws. His legs were also injured probably due to the tough street environment, so he also had leg surgery and is currently recovering well. Rown is looking for a forever family that can give him lots of love and help make him healthy again! 🙏🏻 💌Special Notes💌 *Is undergoing rehabilitation after his ankle surgery, but has recovered a lot and walks well now! He may need to receive continuous rehabilitation therapy. Completed ankle fracture surgery
