Story
Duke is a 4 year old male border collie/chow chow. He has been a very good dog. He came into my home as a rescue after being a stray wondering the streets of Prescott. Three years ago (when I adopted him), I had a wiener dog mix who was 8 years old at that time (still have). Duke came into our home fine after 3 intros on neutral territory. In Sept., I adopted a GS whose owner passed away suddenly. He is 5 years old and a very gentle dog. I have had GS my whole life. He is the most gentle GS I have ever owned. Duke has bit him three times (in three months). This past Saturday, he bit him requiring surgery/stitches. My trainers (two) and vet (who I have gone to for 17 years) have all said he should be in a home with no other dogs. I have SEVEN grandchildren. Four under the age of 3 and three between the ages of 7 and 11. Duke has never been aggressive to the children. Since this incident w/the GS, I think it would be better he be placed in a home w/no other dogs & kids.

Story
Cash is an amazing 8 yr old dog. It breaks my heart to write this. He is great with our three young children. He is loving and compassionate. He loves balls, especially basketball, and he plays like air bud (I have videos to prove it). He is well behaved, although he will occasionally jump and sleep on the couch in the middle of the night when no one is looking. He greets you as soon as you come home, a feeling that cannot be beat. I walk him without a leash, he listens and stays close. He is not aggressive at all with other dogs, he is more of a beta, although his herding instincts do kick in when it comes to cats. He is a wonderful dog through and through. Why am I writing this? He has epilepsy, to a rather severe extent. We have been managing it for the last 6-7 years, but we are no longer able to do so. He needs to take various medications morning and night, and if those times are missed, he has seizures. Those are remedied by additional medication.

Meet Ruth! Ruth is 9-years-old and 30 lbs. She is a happy dog ready for her next adventure. Ruth’s dream home includes lots of cuddle time, pup cups, and plenty of toys! In exchange, her goofy nature will bring laughs anywhere she goes. Ruth is exceptionally smart and well behaved. However, she’s a little shy with new people, and prefers not to meet new people or dogs on walks. But once you’ve shown her you’re safe, she is incredibly loyal and you’re sure to be her new best friend. Whether you’re looking for a hiking partner or a couch companion, Ruth is the one for you. Apply today to meet your new best friend.
