He is a couch potato and will follow you everywhere. He loves his belly rubbed and will sit in your lap like a baby. He knows sit, lay down, and roll over. He would thrive in a home with adults and older children as he doesn't know his own size, and is a big jumper. We are unsure how he would get along with other dogs as he is in a home with just his sibling sister. We are also unsure of how he would do with cats. He isn't around any, but based on the strays that hangout on the fences, he barks at them. He has not tried to hurt them. A backyard would be the best option for him as he is afraid of the leash. He will run and hide in his kennel under his blanket and bed. He would thrive in a home where there is someone home most of the time. He will go into his kennel, but doesn't like the door closed. He will bark until it is opened. He loves toys that squeak, He gets bored with the toys that don't make any noise. He likes to sleep under his bed and blanket, and makes a tunnel with the blanket. We're blessed to have had Jaxx for 7 years, he just turned 8 in October. We would love to find him a home with a senior seeking a companion, a couple, a person with another dog, or a family. Jaxx is incredibly patient and kind. We have 2 young children and he has been nothing but sweet despite their playful curiosities that sometimes end in accidental tugs. Unfortunately my youngest daughter has an allergy we've tried everything for and we're unable to keep him, but we're optimistic he will find the perfect home with you. As I said, Jaxx is incredibly patient with kids, does great with other dogs at the dog park, and walks/jogs well on a leash (though not as fast as when he was a younger dog). He would love to snuggle in bed with you if you desire that, however, if that is not comfortable for you, he is also so happy on his own comfy bed. He has an incredible ability to attune and understand what the house rules are (i.e.- kitchen is a boundary, etc.) and is an emotional companion

I might bark at you in my kennel but, don`t let me fool you, I`m a sweet guy.I`m a young dog with a little more growing to do. I like to run, play, get pets and CUDDLES! I do love my friends at the shelter but, I`d rather have a family of my own. I was found as a stray, the staff doesn`t know if I`ve lived with children but, I`d love to meet them. Please please bring them to meet me to ensure it`s a good match. Since I`m an active boy, I`d love to have a fenced in yard where I can get my energy out! I`d also make a great candidate for a hiking or walking partner. While I seem to like other dogs, I`ll need to meet all other dogs in the household before adoption.Please ask to meet me outside.
