Story
**Clarence is a Patient Paw, who has been available for adoption since September 26, 2024. Please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Age: 2 yearsWeight: 21.6kg / 47.6lbsA bit about me:- unknown history with kids; interactions should be supervised- unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions needed- unknown history with dogs; okay pending successful introductionClarence came to Calgary Humane after he was found as a stray. We have since learned that he is a high-energy boy who loves to split his time between play and rest (whether it be snuggles or resting on his bed). He is a very treat motivated boy, which makes training somewhat easier, though he has shown that he does well playing with a flirt pole as well. Clarence is still figuring out some basic training including leash skills, stairs, and settling for longer periods of time. He seems to really benefit from someone getting down to his level to give some pets. As a supportive tool, CHS is offering 3 free consults with our behaviour team to help Clarence settle into his new home. As a young, active dog, he will benefit from humans who can keep him busy with plenty of mental and physical exercise.

Story
Ellie is a big love bug. Ever since she came into her foster home she fits right in and shows her love for life. She loves to cuddle and play with a few naps in between. She is crate trained and does well in there overnight and while her people are away. She is learning what to chew and not to chew, with plenty of toys on hand she keeps herself busy. She always stays nearby and is very much a people dog but she also loves to play. She is great with kids and is always with her 3 year old foster human!! She has become besties with her foster Doberman, playing for hours. She does have lots of energy so a play mate would help. On walks and car rides she is polite and listens. She is learning her basic obedience and is almost 100% potty trained. She is great at staying close by and listening. She is a very happy and easy going gal who would adjust happily into a home that can provide lots of love, training and activity.

Story
Young Marcy, born October 2023 is a Mexican mix with some Australian cattle dog x lab (her sibling was DNA tested and basically had just about every breed you could list out). Marcy is playful and energetic and would like a home with a yard and a family who enjoys getting out to adventure – walking and swimming are things she enjoys. We think Marcy is part of a litter that was dumped near the sanctuary and taken in briefly by a neighbouring farm. When the farmer got up in the morning several of the dogs had already wandered off, including Marcy – her 4 siblings taken into the SPCA PV. A month or so later, she turned up crying at the sanctuary, having found them again. And she’s now safe in the sanctuary. Marcy is playful and friendly – she likes people and other dogs. She did spend some time in a foster home until there was room for her, so has some basic commands and house trained. Marcy has been tested with cats – she was curious and a bit confused, and eventually thought perhaps they might want to play. Marcy is excited around toys and bones and will sometimes growl so other dogs don’t take them away from her. She could really use the attention that a real home would afford her. Marcy currently weighs 24 lbs, and may grow to 40-45 lbs. She is spayed, healthy and vaccinated. She has siblings living in Vancouver, Bellingham and Vancouver island and all are thriving. Flight availability to Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle and Vancouver island (with less frequency), will resume in fall and she’d love to have a foster or forever home to give her this wonderful chance. If you think she might be a fit for you, write us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little about yourself, or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw
