Meet Bartleby, a black cat with major main character energy and a potbelly he proudly flaunts. He sits like a little old man—hunched over, deep in thought (probably about snacks or world domination). Bartleby is endlessly curious and always plotting his next great “outdoor expedition.” One time, he sat staring through closed blinds for ten full minutes, absolutely convinced he could will them open with sheer stubbornness. He’s mischievous but sweet—an expert snuggler who insists on climbing right up under your chin, and he’ll throw in a nose-to-nose boop if he’s feeling extra cute. He also loves his fancy water fountain, though he’ll never turn down a good old-fashioned sip from the tap. I’m looking to rehome Bartleby due to some life changes—family allergies and plans to travel—but this hilarious little shadow deserves a home where he’ll get all the laughs, love, and attention he gives in return. 💝

🐾 Mylah’s Story 🐾 Mylah is a sweet and spirited 3 year-old black cat who came into my life as a rescue. She’s playful, curious, and full of personality — the kind of cat who’ll greet you with little rubs and follow you from room to room just to be near you. She’s also deeply loving and loyal once she bonds, which is why she does best as the only pet in the home. Mylah loves to be the center of attention and thrives when she has her own space and person to love. She enjoys bird-watching by the window, chasing toys, and curling up in cozy blankets. She’s spayed, healthy, and litter-trained. Rehoming her has been a hard decision — she means a lot to me — but I want her to have the calm, one-on-one home she truly deserves. She’ll come with her favorite toys, blanket, and food to make her transition easier. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with love and little purrs, Mylah is your girl. 💛

Camden is a very handsome, super affectionate boy. He loves to be held and sit in your lap. He likes to play with his people and other cats. He was adopted with his friend Yesterday, but was returned because the adopter didn't feel like she had time to spend with them. He's a bit upset and confused right now, and needs an adopter who will be his real forever home.

Chandler is solid black with beautiful gold eyes, like Bombays. He plays hard with his buddy Mousetro for short periods of time and then seeks out affection and cuddles from the foster mom. He is sweet and laid back. He would do well with someone who is home a lot. He hasn't been around dogs or young children. He has been best buddies with Mousetro since they were only weeks old, so we'd like to see them go to the same home. Chandler is currently in a foster home. Animal Services has new operating hours! We will now be open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and closed Friday through Sunday. In addition to these hours, we will be available after-hours, including Fridays and Saturdays, by appointment. Stella is an adorable DSH black female born approximately 5/20/2025. Stella and her foster brother, Astro, were rescued from being homeless. Thankfully a good Samaritan rescued her and asked NBCR for help in finding her the perfect home. Astro and Stella would prefer a fur-ever home where they can stay together if possible.    Stella is a petite little girl with a gorgeous silky black coat. Don’t let her size fool you though.  Even though they are the same age, Astro is much bigger than her, but that didn’t phase her one bit.  She is an energetic and inquisitive girl who enjoys chatting with you especially at mealtime, when greeting you, or wanting you to turn the faucet on to a slow drip for her drinking pleasure. She does enjoy playing a good game of fetch with her favorite toys. She frequently chases her brother around the room, playing and stealing whichever toy with which he is playing.  They both love tunnel toys, cardboard boxes, tissue paper and chasing wand toys or the laser.
