Trevor is playful, curious and confident. He transitioned easily into his foster home of several small dogs. He is initially reserved with strangers but warms up quickly with toys or treats. He is quite the biscuit maker and knows how to put on the charm with his foster mom. He loves playing with toys and checking out the neighborhood sights from his window perch. This former long time shelter kitty resident is looking for a forever home to call his own. Trevor does have Feline Leukemia. Cats with Feline Leukemia can live normal happy lives they just have a shorter life expectancy. Feline Leukemia is only contagious to other cats. It is species specific and not contagious to other pets or people. Trevor would be fine living in a dog household or in a home with another FeLv positive cat. He does do well with other FeLv cats. Trevor is healthy but because of his FeLv status he would need to be indoor only cat and is at increased risk of illnesses if exposed to diseases. A good diet, low stress and regular veterinary visits are recommended. Trevor does not need any special medications or treatment. You wouldn't know Trevor is FeLv positive by looking at him and he deserves a life with dignity and to be adopted into a loving home. There is no adoption fee on Trevor. EASY-GOING LOVEBUG DOB 9/1/21 Howdy everyone! I’m Indy, a handsome, easy-going black DSH/ Bombay mix dude with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. It took me a while to learn that being petted, chin scratches, and lap time with my foster dad might just be a good thing. My momma Luna led the way, so I started curling up on my foster dad’s warm chest for a quick power nap and discovered that it was pretty delightful. My favorite pastimes include following my foster dad into the bathroom (Bombay mixes can be very dog-like), looking handsome, and watching the world go by as I bask in a patch of sunshine on a windowsill. ENDEARING PERSONALITY, UNDYING DEVOTION  DOB 9/21/18 Looking for a sweet, affectionate kitty who will make you feel cherished by her gentle purrs and head nudges? Then I’m the perfect gal for you! Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Jenna, a loyal and loving black DSH/ Bombay gal who’s a real cuddle expert. At bedtime, I curl up next to Foster Meowmy to share her warmth and comfort throughout the night. Although I’m initially timid when I meet someone, once they warm up to me and I get to know them, I luxuriate in being stroked down my back as well as scratched on my chin, cheeks, and ears. I’m more of a lap cat than a fan of being picked up and carried around. My eyes light up with excitement at the sight and smell of snacks because I’m always up for a tasty treat. One of my favorite pastimes is watching the birds outside the window because I’m captivated by their graceful flights and playful chirps. My street-stray momma ran inside future Foster Meowmy’s home and immediately birthed my litter of four under her bed. Foster Meowmy turned to HOPE to help get us vetted as well as adopted, and, sure enough, I was adopted as the Pet of the Week at the PetSmart Pearland. Unfortunately, I was found in a trap several years later. I can’t explain to Foster Meowmy exactly what happened, but she thinks either I was dumped outdoors, or else I dashed out the door and couldn’t find my way back home. As a previously indoor kitty, I wasn’t used to foraging for prey, so the yummy food attracted me inside the trap. Thank heavens I was traced back to HOPE through my trusty microchip. When Foster Meowmy took me to the vet to get updated vaccines, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Who knows how long I’d been outside, but probably I contracted FIV from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections. Despite my loving nature, I’ve admittedly had some real setbacks in my life. However, my spirit has never been dampened! I certainly deserve a caring and understanding family the second time around. With my endearing personality and undying devotion, I promise to be a constant source of joy and love in my next family’s life. Arrange to meet me today! SNUGGLY SIESTA KING  DOB 4/15/23 If you think the actor Tom Sandoval looks like a hunk dressed in black, you should see me! Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Tom Sandoval’s namesake, an affectionate, saucy, friendly black DSH/ Bombay mix kitten with a sleek, shiny coat. I can be quite the snuggly Siesta King who loves to curl up in bed with either Foster Meowmy or my sister Maddox, with whom I'm very bonded. I soak up any attention that Foster Meowmy gives me, especially when she’s dispensing Temptation treats. I’m a playful guy who loves to play soccer with toy mice as well as engage with iPad games. And of course I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my three sisters, Maddox, Lala, and Katie. I can also entertain myself by scaling the cat tower and playing with its dangling toys. When my Foster Meowmy was walking on her driveway one day, she spotted my feral momma and my litter of four under the house of her next door neighbor. She trapped, spayed, and released Momma but brought us kittens inside to socialize us. We fit in beautifully with her other pets, and now that we're ready to be adopted, she promises to find us all fantastic homes. What a cute name. Was there a reason you were named that? MP: No, not especially. Think my finder Googled exceptionally unusual and cute cat names. Us: Alright, so you mentioned someone found you. Can you tell us more? MP: I was born to a stray cat who got kicked out of her home due to a teenage pregnancy. Me and my 2 sisters lived on the streets and had to fight to survive. That's why I tend to hiss at strange things before knowing if they are friend or foe. Us: Where do you see yourself in a year from now? Hello, I got stink around a year ago at my local animal shelter here in Pasadena. Stink has always been a loving cat but ever since I moved back in with my dad who has an older cat I’ve been having some problems. They get along fine but stink is extremely territorial and most of the time he is chasing my older cat around which stresses him out.
