I’m Elsa, a sweet, stunningly beautiful black DSH/ Bombay mix with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. I’m independent and very inquisitive. I’m initially shy but am so food-driven that I always nudge closer to my foster meowmy for a good treat. I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my siblings. I can also entertain myself because I love balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. Plus I’m very comfortable around the dogs and other cats in my foster home. EASY-GOING LOVEBUG DOB 9/1/21 Howdy everyone! I’m Indy, a handsome, easy-going black DSH/ Bombay mix dude with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. It took me a while to learn that being petted, chin scratches, and lap time with my foster dad might just be a good thing. My momma Luna led the way, so I started curling up on my foster dad’s warm chest for a quick power nap and discovered that it was pretty delightful. My favorite pastimes include following my foster dad into the bathroom (Bombay mixes can be very dog-like), looking handsome, and watching the world go by as I bask in a patch of sunshine on a windowsill. ENDEARING PERSONALITY, UNDYING DEVOTION  DOB 9/21/18 Looking for a sweet, affectionate kitty who will make you feel cherished by her gentle purrs and head nudges? Then I’m the perfect gal for you! Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Jenna, a loyal and loving black DSH/ Bombay gal who’s a real cuddle expert. At bedtime, I curl up next to Foster Meowmy to share her warmth and comfort throughout the night. Although I’m initially timid when I meet someone, once they warm up to me and I get to know them, I luxuriate in being stroked down my back as well as scratched on my chin, cheeks, and ears. I’m more of a lap cat than a fan of being picked up and carried around. My eyes light up with excitement at the sight and smell of snacks because I’m always up for a tasty treat. One of my favorite pastimes is watching the birds outside the window because I’m captivated by their graceful flights and playful chirps. My street-stray momma ran inside future Foster Meowmy’s home and immediately birthed my litter of four under her bed. Foster Meowmy turned to HOPE to help get us vetted as well as adopted, and, sure enough, I was adopted as the Pet of the Week at the PetSmart Pearland. Unfortunately, I was found in a trap several years later. I can’t explain to Foster Meowmy exactly what happened, but she thinks either I was dumped outdoors, or else I dashed out the door and couldn’t find my way back home. As a previously indoor kitty, I wasn’t used to foraging for prey, so the yummy food attracted me inside the trap. Thank heavens I was traced back to HOPE through my trusty microchip. When Foster Meowmy took me to the vet to get updated vaccines, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Who knows how long I’d been outside, but probably I contracted FIV from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections. Despite my loving nature, I’ve admittedly had some real setbacks in my life. However, my spirit has never been dampened! I certainly deserve a caring and understanding family the second time around. With my endearing personality and undying devotion, I promise to be a constant source of joy and love in my next family’s life. Arrange to meet me today! SNUGGLY SIESTA KING  DOB 4/15/23 If you think the actor Tom Sandoval looks like a hunk dressed in black, you should see me! Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Tom Sandoval’s namesake, an affectionate, saucy, friendly black DSH/ Bombay mix kitten with a sleek, shiny coat. I can be quite the snuggly Siesta King who loves to curl up in bed with either Foster Meowmy or my sister Maddox, with whom I'm very bonded. I soak up any attention that Foster Meowmy gives me, especially when she’s dispensing Temptation treats. I’m a playful guy who loves to play soccer with toy mice as well as engage with iPad games. And of course I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my three sisters, Maddox, Lala, and Katie. I can also entertain myself by scaling the cat tower and playing with its dangling toys. When my Foster Meowmy was walking on her driveway one day, she spotted my feral momma and my litter of four under the house of her next door neighbor. She trapped, spayed, and released Momma but brought us kittens inside to socialize us. We fit in beautifully with her other pets, and now that we're ready to be adopted, she promises to find us all fantastic homes. HONEST BUT TIMID  DOB 3/25/24 We sat down with Moon Pie to see what his situation was and what kind of forever home he was looking for. Below are excerpts of that interview.  Us: Hello Moon Pie. What a cute name. Was there a reason you were named that? MP: No, not especially. Think my finder Googled exceptionally unusual and cute cat names. Us: Alright, so you mentioned someone found you. Can you tell us more? MP: I was born to a stray cat who got kicked out of her home due to a teenage pregnancy. Me and my 2 sisters lived on the streets and had to fight to survive. That's why I tend to hiss at strange things before knowing if they are friend or foe. Us: Where do you see yourself in a year from now? MP: I hope I'm in a home surrounded by love with a bottomless bowl of food and lots of cuddles. I do actually purr when I'm picked up. I really am a nice kitty, just scared of the unknown. Trevor is playful, curious and confident. He transitioned easily into his foster home of several small dogs. He is initially reserved with strangers but warms up quickly with toys or treats. He is quite the biscuit maker and knows how to put on the charm with his foster mom. He loves playing with toys and checking out the neighborhood sights from his window perch. This former long time shelter kitty resident is looking for a forever home to call his own. Trevor does have Feline Leukemia. Cats with Feline Leukemia can live normal happy lives they just have a shorter life expectancy. Feline Leukemia is only contagious to other cats. It is species specific and not contagious to other pets or people. Trevor would be fine living in a dog household or in a home with another FeLv positive cat. He does do well with other FeLv cats. Trevor is healthy but because of his FeLv status he would need to be indoor only cat and is at increased risk of illnesses if exposed to diseases. A good diet, low stress and regular veterinary visits are recommended. Trevor does not need any special medications or treatment. You wouldn't know Trevor is FeLv positive by looking at him and he deserves a life with dignity and to be adopted into a loving home. There is no adoption fee on Trevor. Frida is one of four kittens in a litter that we found when they were just 10 days old. We brought her family indoors, mother included, and made sure that the babies would grow up knowing and appreciating the human touch, unlike their mother. Now six months old, Frida’s personality is fully revealed. She is a little mother figure, attentive to her human as much as she is to her brother. She seeks out pets and is very tactile. As the runt of her little, she’s petite, but she is mighty! Frida has been spayed, is up to date on vaccines, is negative for FIV/FeLV, and is microchipped. She is not afraid of cat-friendly dogs. Solo adoption will be considered, but preference will be given to parties interested in adopting a bonded pair. She and her brother Maurice, with whom she is pictured, are quite close. It's still kitten season, and we have many! Males and females in varied colors, patterns, personalities and ages. Keep in mind that kittens do best in home with other kittens or young cats as it allows for better social/mental/cognitive health, and also keeps boredom and destructive behaviors at bay :-). I’m Sylvia! A total sweetheart! Found in the Home Depot lumber section with my siblings, I was the first to run out and be rescued by a nice lady (not shopping for kittens but super happy to have come across us)!
