Story
Chica (along with her sister Tigeressa) are both looking for their forever homes. They were adopted and became loving companions to their owner; a single woman living alone who battled multiple forms of cancer. Chica and Tigeressa remained lovingly by her side throughout every stage of her battle. They were constant loyal companions to their owner and always brought her comfort. Tragically, their owner unexpectedly passed away during the summer of 2024. Along with her family members, Chica and Tigeressa were heartbroken and distraught over their beloved owner’s sudden passing. Their owner’s daughter made many efforts to merge Chica and Tigeressa with her own 3 cats and have them all blend together; however, it has not been successful. Chica was adopted as an adult and is estimated to be around 10 years old. She is very sweet and loves to curl up on a warm windowsill in the sunshine. She has been strictly indoors since being adopted by her original owner.

Story
C’mon ginger lovers, do we have a cat for you! Peaches is so awesome and we have no idea why, but she keeps getting overlooked as many other of our cats have been adopted. She has been with AAC in a foster home for a while now and we have really gotten to know her. She is a true people cat and loves to play. She is a young and VERY smart cat. She loves cuddles and just hanging out after play. She is fully vetted, spayed and estimated at about a year old. Despite being abandoned at a young age, she has taken it all in stride. She is brave, silly and interactive. While Peaches is a love and would probably do well with another feline-friendly cat in her new home, she would also thrive as a spoiled solo cat. Understanding she has been through some rough times and will need a little time to settle into her new home and trust her new people, respectful/gentle older children (or a child-free home could work too) are recommended. Very few orange cats are female, so this little girl is a true diamond in the rough. We actually think this one is smart enough … you could teach her tricks! INDOOR HOMES ONLY. Being on the streets was rough on this little one. For the safety of our cats, a home check is a requirement of adoption. But we make this as convenient as possible. Our required application can be found here: https://form.jotform.com/231967731104152 AAC’s new Adoption Program is run by all volunteers and is very small so we have limited space to help cats (who have nowhere else to go and usually are facing euthanization). So when you adopt Peaches, you also open up a space so we can save another life.

Story
Oreo has been with us for a little while now and we have really gotten to know him. He came to us when he was abandoned with his sister Hazel (now adopted) at a local trailer park. He has been taken into a wonderful foster home to decompress from his time on the streets and wow, is he is doing GREAT! The potential in him is truly unlimited; and someone will be so lucky to have this journey of discovery and further emotional healing with him. We have learned he is a total love bug once he learns to trust you. This can take a week or two, so we are looking for a kind and patient adopter to simply let this shy little guy acclimate at his own speed. We have also learned that he does great with other young cats and might really enjoy a cat-friendly, confident buddy who will show him the ropes in his new home. But he would also thrive as your one and only. Let’s work together to find this diamond in the ruff his furever family. He is estimated at about 2 years old, fully vetted, healthy and on the smaller side for a male cat. He has great litter box habits, isn’t picky about food. INDOOR HOMES ONLY (he has had enough of the streets). For the safety of our cats, home visits required. We make this as convenient and unobtrusive as possible. Adoption fee $50.
