Story
Baby is part of a bonded pair with Mitzi. They must be adopted together. They are retired barn cats looking for a warm barn home where they can spend their senior years. Make way for the sweetest submarine you'll ever see! Baby's tail is always up and ready to lead you to the next adventure. She's also a talker and will happily meow to you about how her day has been. Baby's estimated birth date is March 2014, but don't underestimate her! She can keep up with younger cats and spends her nights exploring all over her home, batting toys along the way. She is bonded with her sister, Mitzi, and the two often pounce on each other like kittens. Baby is not picky about her food, but enjoys a combination of wet and dry, and prefers your attention over any treat. Baby is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and has been microchipped. Her adoption fee is sponsored. She must be adopted together with her sister, Mitzi. The two would do best in a quiet home with experienced cat owners.

Story
Meet Yawoong-ee, also known as Meow! This handsome guy has a curious spirit and a touch of shyness. Meow can be a bit cautious with strangers at first, but given time, he warms up and reveals his affectionate side. Meow has experience living with children and will likely enjoy a home with older children and/or adults. At night, he becomes a lively explorer, ready to play and discover. Meow is searching for a patient and loving home where he can continue to thrive. He would benefit from a cat-savvy family. Yawoong-ee has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Yawoong-ee can be adopted as a solo cat, or live with other cats (FIV+ is recommended, though living with FIV- cats can be done); this is up to the adopter. If the adopter has any questions about bringing an FIV+ cat into their home, we recommend they speak with their veterinarian.Yawoong-ee is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take him home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! If you`d like to meet our available pets, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Story
Who says you don’t get second chances in life? That’s certainly not true for this sweet older lady. We don’t know much about her back story, but what we do know is that somehow she found herself alone on the streets of Baltimore. She was taken to Baltimore Animal Control, where everyone there immediately fell in love with her. As stressful as it must have been to lose her home, be kicked out on the street and then wind up at a busy shelter, her wonderful disposition just shined right through. She absolutely adores people and was a well loved pet at one point. She can’t get enough of being petted and receiving belly rubs. She is an easy going ol’ gal and gets along fine with other cats and animals. She’s extremely adaptable. She has perfect litter box skills and manners. She’s not one to climb up curtains or scratch on furniture. Her favorite thing in the world is just to snooze next to her person. She does have a playful side, but in general she’s a very calm girl. Just an all around sweetheart. She will make a new family very happy. Like all Furever Home cats, Uni is FeLV positive. If you’d like more information about FeLV or Uni, please contact FureverHomeMD@gmail.comOctober 25, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Sweet little Daisy has every reason to distrust people, but like most animals, they are willing to give us a second, and sometimes a fifth, chance. Daisy was abandoned on the streets with her brother when her family moved out and left them behind. A few months later, her brother was attacked and killed by a dog. Luckily for her, a caring neighbor began looking out for her and leaving food. As time passed, it became apparent that little Daisy was just not doing well as an outside cat. Her fur lost it’s shine and Daisy began to get sick. Again the nice neighbors took her in, but unfortunately for her, by then she had contracted FeLV so the neighbors couldn’t keep her. Because there are not nearly enough FeLV rescues, many have a long waitlist. The neighbors were concerned Daisy wouldn’t survive outside in the hot summer so they expanded their search until they found us. The problem was that we were a 16 hour drive away! But the nice neighbors were willing to make that sacrifice for Daisy. And we very quickly understood why. Daisy is so worth it!!!! She is the most lovable little girl! She loves to snuggle with her people whenever she can, but she’s not overly Velcro either. She loves to play with her toys as well, but she’s also ok on her own through the day. She has the most adorable little chirp and will actually have an entire conversation with you, although we admit, sometimes it’s hard to understand what she’s saying. She also has impeccable litter habits and will actually wipe her little paws off before walking away from the litter box. In summary, Daisy is perfect! Like all our cats, Daisy is FeLV positive. If you’d like more information on what that means, feel free to call us at 301.703.1674 or email FureverHomeMD@gmail.com.October 25, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Meet Square! Square is a large boy, but not obese. He needs the bigger frame to carry around all the love. And he has the most smoochable little pink nose! He’s a confident, curious boy who likes to snuggle but isn’t overwhelming about it. He’s a gentle giant. He’s obviously had a tough life because he does shrink away if you come at his face too quickly, but once he trusts you, he loves to be stroked and petted. At four years old, he’s that perfect age when he still has a playful side, but he also enjoys a good nap. He has perfect kitty litter etiquette and doesn’t scratch up furniture. He does well alone or with other cats. He’s perfect for a new cat owner since he’s just so easy to have around. He’s extremely adaptable and will do well in most households as long as there is at least one window that allows a sunbeam to come through. Like all Furever Home cats, Square is FeLV positive. Therefor he can not live in a house hold with a FeLV negative cat. If you’re not familiar with FeLV, feel free to reach out to us for more info.
