Story
FOR ADOPTION: FLINT is an approximately 2 year old male that is looking for an understanding family to help him learn how to truly love. This stunning fella is part of a large group of cats that were abandoned in a well known home in the Smithers area. Many well meaning locals were able to catch some of the friendlier felines and NWAS came in and captured the last of the group once we had space. Flint was absolutely terrified of people when he first arrived but never mean. He likes to “turtle”, he hides under his blanket when he is feeling overwhelmed. We’ve spent countless hours earning this guys trust and teaching him that humans mean no harm. Thanks to the help of a calming supplement and the cats around Flint that are much bolder and more comfortable with humans, Flint has decided he is ready to accept love. The once terrified little turtle is now a timid cuddler that drools in pleasure when you find just the right spot behind his ears. He can still be found hiding under his pillow but when we remove the cover he is ready and willing to accept our love! Flint is still learning the finer points of human interaction such as not holding onto our hands with his mouth when we try to finish a petting session before he is ready. We think he will do best in a child free home until he has really gotten a grasp on this whole domestic pet thing. He was very happily living with a large group of other cats and we’ve found that he does watch the cats around him for cues in how to react to new situations, he would do very well with a bold feline role model in his new home. At this point Flint has had very minimal interactions with dogs but we think he could adjust to life with a very calm canine. He is neutered, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. At this point Flint is looking for an indoor only environment but he could eventually transfer to indoor outdoor if he gains enough confidence in his new environment. If you’ve been looking for a little guy that will flourish with consistent, calm affection then apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet FLINT.
