Story
Say hello to Zack, the sweetest little boy who has just arrived at Just Paws! At only 8 weeks old, this tiny bundle of joy weighs a whopping 5.5 lbs. We believe Zack is a poodle/bichon mix, making him an adorable ball of fluffy fun! Zack is being fostered in Ajax. Zack was recently surrendered through no fault of his own, as one of his previous family members had an allergic reaction to him. So, if you have allergies, Zack might not be the right fit for your home. However, if you’re allergy-free, get ready to fall in love! Zack visited the vet recently, and we’re happy to report he was a superstar! He charmed the entire staff and passed his examination with flying colors. He’s been microchipped and received his first set of vaccinations (with two more to go). His forever family will need to ensure he gets neutered as he gets older. Until Zack has received his second set of vaccinations, outdoor activity will need to be limited, with no full outdoor exposure until after the third set. Zack is a playful puppy, but he’s also a big fan of cuddles and loves to nap in your lap or beside you. He’s been getting along well with other dogs and enjoys being part of the pack. He’s still adjusting to his new environment and people, so he might not be too keen on being left alone just yet—he simply loves being close to his humans! If you are looking for a dog who will want to do lots of hiking and running, he may not be the companion for you. Zack enjoys being petted, getting kisses, and playing in a securely fenced yard with his foster dog siblings. He’s also got a cute little high-pitched bark that he uses to let you know when he wants something or isn't happy. Remember, he’s just a puppy, so he has a lot of learning and growing ahead of him! He’s currently going through the chewing and nipping phases. Zack is doing very well with house training. Ideal Home for Zack: Active Family: Zack needs a family that can provide plenty of playtime and exercise. Another fun dog sibling would be great. Fenced Yard: A secure backyard is essential for Zack to run and play safely. Training: Commitment to positive reinforcement training is a must. Zack is smart and food-motivated, so he will learn quickly. No Condos: Zack loves being outside and will bark, making condos unsuitable for him, especially with his high-pitched bark when he's not happy. What Zack Needs: A house with a fenced yard. Commitment to positive reinforcement training. Patience and love. Understanding of the puppy stages and being prepared for them. If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly companion and are willing to invest in positive reinforcement training, Zack could be the perfect addition to your family. Apply today to make Zack a part of your life—he’s sure to bring endless joy and love to his forever home! Applications will be reviewed on September 6. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet Sophie – Our Sweet, Energetic Poodle/Spaniel Mix!   Sophie has just arrived at her foster home and is settling in beautifully! At just two months old, Sophie was surrendered by her previous owners who weren’t prepared for the energy of a playful puppy. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family that can give her the love and care she deserves.  Sophie is being fostered in the Clarington area.   While we’ll learn more about Sophie’s health soon during her vet visit (where she'll start her vaccinations and get microchipped), we already know she’s a healthy, bouncy little girl with tons of love to give. We believe she’s a poodle/spaniel mix, which means she’s not only cute but also smart and affectionate.   Sophie is full of puppy energy and loves spending time outdoors. Her foster mom thinks she’d thrive in a home with a secure, fenced-in yard where she can run and play to her heart’s content. She’s also doing well with house training and would be ok with a playful doggy sibling to keep her company. Sophie sleeps well in her crate at night, enjoys her meals (and treats!), and has been learning to walk on leash.   Like any puppy, Sophie has a playful side and sometimes nips, but she’s learning quickly and is easily distracted with toys. She’s also a Velcro pup who loves to be close to her humans and follow them around the house. While she’s still a bit nervous about being left alone, that’s something she’s working on – after all, she’s still a baby! Sophie’s tiny bark is too cute for words, and she uses it to get your attention when she’s ready for cuddles or playtime.   Sophie’s foster family already adore her and thinks she’s the best. She would benefit from puppy training classes to continue her socialization and reinforce positive behaviors. If you’re looking for a loving, fun companion to add to your family, Sophie might be the perfect match for you!   Ready to meet Sophie? Apply today and give her the forever home she deserves!
