ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Apple Jack! He is a 16 pound, 10-year-old miniature poodle.  Apple Jack is the happiest, sweetest boy. He walks around the house all day wagging his tail. He's also very smart and a quick learner. He only barks when he needs something (like if his dinner is late!).  He is great with other pups and loves all humans.  Because Apple Jack loves other dogs so much, we would love to see him go to a home that has other dogs for him to play with.  He also seems good with cats.  He is house trained, very food motivated, good in the car, can't wait to go on walks, and loves sleeping next to you in bed all night. He does well being left at home with other animals and does not seem to have separation anxiety. He can’t wait to find his forever home so he can give his new family their love and attention.  If you are looking for a fun and loving companion, consider adopting Apple Jack!  He is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is $200. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  November 12, 2024, 3:27 pm

Story
How Benjamin Button arrived: Benjamin Button was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on 10/25/24. He was briefly adopted and returned to our care. Why Benjamin Button is the one for you:Benjamin Button has been social and easy to handle since his arrival at San Diego Humane Society. He's shown a calm and cooperative nature, making it easy for staff to care for him. With his gentle demeanor and adaptability, Benjamin Button would be a fantastic companion for someone looking for a well-mannered pet. During his brief adoption, Benjamin Button was a bit scared by cats in the home so he might need time to adjust to being with cats. If you would like to meet this sweet boy, email us at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Benjamin Button is now ready for his new home!Message for details:This pet is available for adoption in a foster home.
