Story
Well now, here's a pup you won't soon forget! This is Hobo - the goofiest hound you may ever meet. Hobo was a Coal Road dump, of course; and a caring couple originally kept him while looking for his owner until one of their dogs decided they didn't like Hobo's antics. Now he's here, waiting to find the special someone who will appreciate his particular brand of dog humor. A true goofball, Hobo is very playful -- his favorite toys are his stuffies! What REALLY motivates him are TREATS, TREATS & MORE TREATS! This guy will climb mountains for treats...But you gotta give them to him directly or else he won't find them. Hobo is very affectionate, also. He's a sweetie who loves his scritches and scratches and he's got the biggest ears to tussle around! We believe he may never have lived inside before (not 100% certain, just behavioral observations), so he'll need some patience with some of his training. Rarely does he bark outside of his kennel, though! He's a jumper, but would likely love some kids to play with; and definitely seems to get along with other pups. Hobo will make you LOL and then lean on you for rubs and lovins' - swing by the shelter to find out for yourself! Call the shelter to set up a meet & greet! updated 10/25/24

Story
Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Please help Watson, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Rides is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Watson to his new home. This is included in the adoption fee.

Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
