Story
Chili is a sweet and affectionate charmer who loves to give a long loving hug and hopes to get lots of kisses in return. She will put her nose right on your nose to make sure you are giving her all your love and attention. She is young, active and loving. She had no house manners when she first came into foster, but she is very proud to show her "sit". She is also doing well on her house training. She is a smart girl and picked up on the daily routine very easily. She is always excited to hear "walk" and see her harness. Chili enjoys hanging out in the fenced yard, snoozing in the shade and patrolling for any varmints that have come into the yard. Chili does not bay/bawl, but will bark when startled or thinks there is danger. She loves to take walks around the neighborhood. She has a strong sense of smell, and will frequently have her nose in the air or on the ground. She likes to do her business on her walks. She enjoys being with other dogs and is happy to have them take walks with her. Chili has a good appetite and is very treat motivated. But she also loves praise. She responds well to being told "good girl" to reinforce her good behavior. Bluetick Coonhounds are bred to be hunting dogs. They are athletic, hardy, and need a full-time job or activity such as hunting, obedience, or agility to stay happy. Chili's job while in foster was to raise and protect her puppies. Come meet this fabulous girl! *Weekend Host feedback: " Chili was AWESOME with other dogs. She walked really well with my dog when I had them out together for a walk. She would do well in a car with a doggo seat belt. She did great with going right to the door and sitting when she had to go potty". Recent Weekend Host commented: "She's usually quite calm around the house but will reach up when she wants attention, food, or a walk!" "She's great on walks, loves them, and appears to be potty trained." "The only time she gets excited is when she sees bikers, otherwise, she's calm around other dogs and humans." "Chili was the most perfect and most beautiful house guest! She's sweet, graceful and very well mannered. She loves to play but she also showed us her little tricks. Once I got tired she was able to throw the stuffy herself and continued playing fetch on her own"!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Finney was found as a stray in the road in Virginia. Despite being abandoned and malnourished, she immediately started cuddling and hasn’t stopped since. She is a sweetheart, always looking for pets, belly rubs, and treats. She loves everyone, kids included, but can get nervous around bigger dogs (but that’s getting better!) Now that she’s back to a healthy weight, Finney is ready to find a forever home and a family to call her own.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 10:45 am

Story
Iris is a 1-year-old, 29lb Tricolor Bluetick Coonhound. Iris is a sweet lovable girl who just needs someone that can help her feel safe. Right now, she is very skittish of almost everything, but when she warms up, she loves to snuggle and play. She does very well with her foster dog siblings and feels most confident around other dogs. Due to her shy nature, she'd do best with a home that has a fenced in yard so that she can walk around freely while she learns to be comfortable on a leash. Iris will be one of those cases where the effort will be worth the reward. If you think you'll be able to give Iris the patience and love she deserves, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm
