Story
Hello friends! Did you click on my picture because of my unique name or because of how cute I am? Maybe both? Well, my cuteness will never change, but you are, of course, free to change my name. Just so you know, my foster family calls me Billy. I really love being in Minnesota where I am fed every day without having to seek it out and where my family wants to give me love and snuggles when I am up for it. I am originally from Alabama where I was found running down the street, a stray with no family or home. A nice older couple stopped and called to me. I wasn’t sure about them at first, but I jumped in the back of their car and they took me to a shelter. Now I’m in Minnesota living with two resident dogs, and four to six humans - depending on if the college boys are home. They have a nice fenced-in yard in which I like to play. I love to chase after the ball if you throw it for me. I may bring it back to you, or I may decide to lie down and hold it in my paws. I never had toys before coming to Minnesota, and if I give it back to my human, I wonder if I will still get to play with it. Learning to trust is something I am working on right now. I do trust most of the humans in my house, but sometimes if the humans make sudden or loud movements, I run away. One of the teenagers in the house is tall and can be loud; I am still kind of scared of him. However, I am not scared of the thing my human calls a vacuum. Weird, huh? Speaking of vacuums, I am a bit of a vacuum myself, in terms of dog food that is (not other things I shouldn’t get into). My foster mama gives me my meals, and I eat it all up, like a vacuum. I’m so happy to have food, shelter, and someone taking such good care of me. I have a bed to sleep on in a nice kennel. I sometimes go in the kennel to sleep or chew on a bone all on my own. Other times, my foster family has me go in when they go “night-night” or “bye-bye”. I am very good in my kennel because I know I am safe and loved. I wasn’t sure about these people at first, but I am slowly warming up to them. It takes some time for me to trust, but trust I will if you promise to feed me, love me, give me treats, pet me, give me treats, and be patient with me. (I really like treats!) --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxMeet Bonnaroo! This handsome fella needs a strong, gentle pack leader who will not allow him to be in charge.  Yes he is a big boy and can be a bit overwhelming to some but when he knows you are the boss because you guide him to do the right thing, he is all yes ma’am, yes sir.  He will need continued training and yes, we have a trainer already set up to work with him.  We just need a adopter who is willing to put in the time for socialization and training.  He will thrive in an environment that has boundaries and expectations for him to follow. He is true to his people and although needs a minute to be ok with strangers, once he is comfortable, he is all snuggles and happy wiggles. He is housebroken and crate trained and walks well on a leash.  Right now he prefers to be the only dog in the home.  He can be around other dogs, but is a bit awkward and wants to show them he is the boss.  Yes, the trainer will help with that.   Look at that face…. Won’t you help Bonnaroo be all he can be??   If you have filled out an application please just email adoptionatmars@gmail.com   If you are a previous foster please email fosteratmars@gmail.com   Let's get this big guy home!!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Hello, I am Donatello! I am a staffy mix born 3/31/24 and weigh 42 lbs. I really AM perfect!  Well, maybe other than my name which is a mouthful - my fosters have called me "Tello" for short and I respond to that with more tail wags than you'd believe. Actually, my tail seldom stops wagging which is just one of my many great qualities!  I'm about the happiest guy you'll ever meet and I am sooo well behaved: don't bark in the house or seldom in the yard; take treats so gently you'll never worry about being bitten; take even 3-hour car rides beautifully, just curl up and sleep.  I'm totally food motivated which makes my learning new skills so easy. (That's not to say I'm in need of any as I know my basic commands - sit, down, hand signal for stay, kennel up! - and will always let you know if I need to go outside to go potty by either whining or just going to the door and sitting.) I sleep in my crate at night because that's what I've done before but my new foster doesn't believe that's really necessary as I've never done anything I shouldn't in the house. Heck, I'm so well behaved I don't even beg at the table when people are eating and have never countersurfed! In the house I'm mostly chill, lying beside my foster dog brother or in one of the large dog beds while happily working on a chew toy. I live with several cats and am curious about but never chase them - but am scared of the bossy ones! Everywhere my foster has taken me I've been just great meeting people and other dogs. Yep, I'm a total perfect package! When I came into rescue I was listed as an AmStaf mix. Any picture my foster takes of me Google captions with Catahoula Leopard dog. If you look at my beautiful distinctive coat, that and my body build plus the good things about that breed sure do describe me.  But hey, a breed name doesn't matter, all that matters is what a loving great guy I am!      Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $595.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 19, 2024, 4:21 pm
