Story
My name is Arden, I am a 4 month-old Blue Tick Hound Mix. I am a very playful, spunky, little girl and so full of energy. When I do get tired, I just want to snuggle and curl up next to you and sleep. I especially love my bones and stuffed toys. I am making great progress with potty training, and I do well if I am taken out on a regular schedule. I sleep in my crate overnight and only wake up once during the night to go outside. My foster parents help me by putting a light blanket over my crate at night, so that I calm down and sleep. When it's time to go into my crate I go in with no problem as I know that my foster parents are going to give me a treat. I love my treats, and I am very food-motivated! I love to play outside with my foster siblings and run around the backyard. I have been around big dogs and small dogs, and I love kids! My foster parents do have a cat, I am curious about him, but he wants nothing to do with me, but I don’t chase him. My favorite hobbies are playing with bones, chewing sticks, and stuffed toys. I will do well with an active family who wants to play with me! My foster parents have also been training me to swim in their pool. Visit ruffredemption.org to complete an application. All Ruff Redemption Dogs are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They also receive a minimum of two distemper/parvo vaccines, medication for the treatment and prevention of intestinal worms, and monthly heart worm/flea prevention while in our care. Rabies vaccines are given if the dog is 16 weeks of age or older.  November 21, 2024, 12:16 am

Story
Home for the Holidays - Reduced Adoption Fees if Adopted by January 10th!    Hi, my name is Kalina. I know that I am beautiful and a dog that when everybody sees my picture they will want to have me as their own. But you see, I lived a life without humans My entire life. I was just used to make babies. So many beautiful, beautiful babies. But I was never given love, affection, or touch, and I did not even get a minimal amount of attention. So I am not easy. I am not the dog that will come to you if you are looking at me. I will never let you reach down and rub my entire body, at least not until we have known each other for a while. I will barely get close enough for you to just feel my nose and give me a loving touch on my face. But if you give me a chance, I will make small strides. I don't know if I'll ever be that loving couch potato kind of dog. But I do surprise my fommy sometimes and get up on the couch when she's not paying attention and snuggle at her feet. But if you move, I'll move.  I will sneak up on you and boop your butt when you're doing dishes. I will bark at you when I want to come in the house and probably even make you leave the house so that I can come in the house. It will take me a while to take treats from your hand. But I will do it eventually. I need time and slow movements—more time than most. I need someone to build a routine with me. Someone who understands that is who I need. From her Fommy: Understanding that this dog is not a typical dog is so important. As her Foster, it took me months before she would even allow me into the same room with her. We have been together for eight months now, and she's still only coming to the room with me if I'm not looking at her. She loves her crate. She walks right into it as long as I'm not in the path and have my back to her. I tell you this just so you understand how special she is.  Even though she is so standoffish, I know that she loves me with everything that she has. But when she presents her love, it doesn't look like a typical kind of love from any other dog. And this girl needs somebody that's willing to accept that.  She will absolutely require another dog in her household because that is what helps her thrive and to show her safety. She will absolutely need a crate in her home because that is her safe spot. And a fenced-in yard is definitely a must because she is a flight risk. She does not know how to walk on leash and I don't know if she ever will be able to. The real world is just very scary for her. When I take her out she is on multiple leashes and that is just to get her from the house to the car. That being said, I also think a farm environment would work for her. As long as it's not near big roads. You would still need to work with her first to get her comfortable. And she needs another dog to help her with that. But if you give her a nice picnic table to sunbathe on, she will be ever so happy. When it comes down to it, she's a very loyal dog to her property and people.  She's amazing with dogs and children, although with dogs, she can be annoyingly in their face/muzzle area for a long time. And with children, she is very easily startled, so I would say older children. A calm/laid-back home would be ideal.  She is an amazingly sweet, perfect dog, but she's not your typical dog. You are never going to make her into what you want. You just have to be okay with becoming who she needs. If you're up for that task, please inquire for this girl  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
Beatrice just turned three, and we were curious to learn about her breed mix. Here’s what we discovered: 66% Treeing Walker Coonhound 10% Plott Hound 4% Redbone Coonhound 3% Bluetick Coonhound 2% American Foxhound You can check out more details about her breed mix here: Beatrice's Wisdom Panel . Now, let me tell you why Beatrice is so special. She is a sweet, loving, and smart girl who adores people and other dogs. Whenever she sees a new face—human or canine—her tail wags with excitement. She’s incredibly social and loves to make new friends. However, Beatrice does have a high prey drive, so a home without small animals, including cats and small dogs, would be best. Her enthusiasm for food also makes her a bit too rambunctious for homes with very young children, as she may accidentally knock them over in her excitement. At around 40 pounds, Beatrice is strong and agile. As a hound, her hunting instincts are sharp—especially when it comes to raccoons. She has even taken down a raccoon her size without a scratch! Beatrice’s story is one of resilience. This beautiful brindle girl was abandoned on a road in Arkansas while pregnant, and sadly, her litter didn’t survive. After fending for herself, she thought she’d found a home, only to be abandoned again. Thankfully, a local rescue stepped in, and Beatrice made her way to Atlanta, where she’s hoping to find her true forever family. What makes Beatrice truly special are her soulful eyes, her stunning coat, and her eagerness to please. She’s a social butterfly who loves other dogs, enjoys playtime, and has a deep desire to bond with a person she can call her own. She’s a cuddler, happy to snuggle up and relax next to you, but she’s also a true hound who would love to accompany you on outdoor adventures. If you’re a hunter, she’d be thrilled to join you—just be sure to keep a tracker on her because once she picks up a scent, she’s off! Because of her strong hunting instincts, a home with a fenced yard would be ideal to give her space to run while staying safe. Beatrice is 100% potty trained and is perfectly calm indoors as long as she gets her daily walk. A 30-minute walk is usually enough to keep her content and relaxed, but without that exercise, she might get a bit antsy. If you’re looking for a beautiful, loyal companion to share your life with—whether it’s watching TV on the couch or exploring the outdoors, Beatrice Beasley could be the perfect match. She’s a special girl, and I tell her that every day. My biggest hope is that she finds someone who will see just how special she is and give her the loving home she deserves. Could that someone be you?
