Meet Blue, an 8-year-old resilient pup seeking a forever home. His loving owner passed away, leaving him homeless. Despite tough times, Blue's spirit shines. Ready to share warmth and companionship, he's a loyal friend for life. He has a very hound-like goofy personality who never meets a stranger. He loves all people and will make a great companion! The adoption fee is $325, with an additional $200 required for transportation. Please note that at the moment, this adorable pet is in the care of a foster home in Tennessee but will be lovingly transported to your location once the adoption process is successfully completed. For details on meeting locations and transport arrangements, simply click on the "Transport" tab at ffpets.org. Story
Scout is a neutered male hound/weimaraner mix (see his DNA results), weighing about 40-45 lbs. He is a sweet, special boy who has had a rough past and really needs an angel to step up and save his life.  His estimated age is 3-4 years old, however he has graying on his muzzle which makes him look older than he is.  He also has scars on his ears and face.  This boy has definitely experienced trauma and he is slow to trust people, but deep down he just wants to love and be loved.  He is misunderstood and has had people let him down too many times. Scout bonds closely to one person and once he trusts you, you will feel the love and adoration every time he looks into your eyes!  He is a lazy couch potato who loves to nap on the couch next to you and will follow you around the house like your shadow.  Once you’ve really earned his love, he will steal your slippers or other little trinkets that smell like you and take them onto the couch to keep close to him.  He won’t chew them, he just wants to keep a piece of you with him always.   Scout has been adopted and returned once due to fearful aggressive behavior towards men and children.  He has been in his current foster home for 11 months now and has not had a single application on him.  He is a good boy, but he requires a very specific type of home to do well, and we have not had any luck finding the right home for him His current foster mom loves him and has worked hard to help him be the best boy he can be, but there is a man in the home and Scout just cannot comfortably coexist with a man.  He (the man) understands that Scout’s aggression towards him comes from a place of fear and he has tried hard to earn Scout’s trust, but the situation is no longer tenable for Scout or his foster family.  Scout will sadly be facing euthanasia very soon if we do not find any other options for him. Scout’s ideal home: A female only home, no men, children, or cats.  Scout does well with other dogs and likes to be near them, he also has bursts of playful enjoy and will happily romp around for a play session! A friendly, confident doggo friend would help him to feel safe and to trust, although he would also do just fine as an only dog.  A quiet, calm home environment is best for Scout.  He is lower energy and is happy to nap on the couch all day, but he does also love walks (he is strong and tends to pull, so he needs someone strong enough to handle him).  He needs a home that will commit to crating him in a separate room when they have visitors over, as he is not good with new people and when Scout is fearful, he relies on aggression to keep him safe and to keep the “scary” thing away.  Scout needs someone to love him for who he is, warts and all, who will set him up for success and advocate for him. Scout is currently being fostered in CT and he is running out of time!  If you think you might be a good fit for Scout, please consider applying to foster or adopt him!   Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##1778132##

Story
Meet Speckle, a super sweet 1 year old spayed female Catahoula/terrier mix! She weighs about 40 lbs and is full grown. She was very underweight when she was picked up as a stray in east TN and taken into rescue, she has gained some weight but still needs to put on a little more. She has a beautiful red merle coat and light green eyes. Photos do not do this girl justice!  Speckle is shy and nervous at first, but she warms up with some patience (and some treats) and is very friendly and loving once she knows she can trust you! This sweet girl has a youthful spirit and is happy and playful! Speckle is good with other dogs, people, and older kids 8+ (because she is young and exuberant and may unintentionally knock over a small child). She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. From Speckle's current foster: "Speckle enjoys playing with other dogs, but she also enjoys being with humans and would love to hang all day with them if she could. She has a happy energy level, but not out of control. She loves to give hugs, sleeps through the night, and hasn't had any accidents in the house. She is the sweetest girl with golden eyes." Speckle medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweetheart today!  ##2172227##
